Ran out of gas
21 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Look - I love Edgar Wright and co. Shaun of the Dead is a classic horror comedy and Hot Fuzz is one of my favorite movies of all time. I mean Wright crossed Comedy, Horror, Mystery and Action. How can do that? It was brilliant! I was very excited to see The World's End. There were some funny bits. Pegg is funny but the twist with Frost's character being the straight guy just didn't work. Great supporting cast but the Alien story just didn't work. Sorry - loved the Cornetto - Blood and Ice Cream trilogy but this was the weakest link.

Good Documentary
28 June 2019
I watched this as an after thought and ended up really enjoying this. I wasn't over joyed with some of the production. Some or most of the music being played especially in the beginning and as back ground for the interviews was terrible. Very annoying!!! However that comparison of the 1989 and current interview with Lazar and very interesting and though provoking. The fact that evidences has come to light that vindicates some of his statements is very interesting. I think this is a very good watch. Give it a go. Good stuff.

Star Quality Makes this movie good but not grat
26 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I re-watched the Way We Were last night and came away with these thoughts. It is visually a very well made movie and Redford and Streisand are both very good and have great on screen chemistry. It is at the end of the day a good love story.

However the story is very uneven. I felt the second half of the movie was not nearly as good as the first. Some of the motivations for Katie and Hubell didn't always make sense and seem to be over done. Hubell no really wanting to see his baby or have anything to do with it at the end painted him to be a little bit of a jerk which is not the best way to end it.

Good movie
8 March 2018
I am going to disagree with a lot of review of this movie. I waiting for it to come out on Blue Ray before watching it because of the mediocre responses critics had. I thought the film was beautifully made, well acted and alot of fun to watch. Branagh did some quirky and interesting things with Poriot but after I wrapped my head around that I really enjoyed the film. Highly recommend.

Good Documentary about a Great Group
5 February 2018
I saw this over the weekend and really liked it. I learned some things about Chicago and it's journey that I never knew before. I thought I already knew a lot but there was some good stuff here. My only concern is that this is produced by the band and directed by Lou Pardini's family member so it is not going to be completely objective. At the end of the day Chicago is a great band with a lot of big egos. The remaining members seem to down play Cetera's ability as a song writer and his contributions. Cetera is an excellent song writer and had one of the best voices in the business. Clearly Foster took them in a different direction but it seemed like it was a good decision at the time. The really needed a change up in my opinion. I am disappointed Cetera couldn't check his ego at the door and perform at the Hall of Fame. That would have been amazing. I also thought Bill Champlin was overlooked in the movie. I know he didn't want to participate but the founders acted like he didn't have much to offer. Interesting that since this documentary was made that Jason Scheff was also fired. So other than Lamm, Pankow, Loughnane, and Parazaider. Chicago will always be my favorite group but it is too bad that all of the ego's ended up crushing the stage.

Funny 80s Comedy
11 January 2018
Very funny comedy about growing up in the 80s. Silly at times but there is always a laugh. John Cusack is a hypocrite to complain about this movie possibly hurting is career. He has been a few questionable choices during his career while this gem enjoys a legacy and following of its own. Highly recommend if anybody has not seen it. Fun to watch during the Holidays with the Christmas and New Years references.

little bit of a drop off (no pun intended)
11 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The first episode was OK. Not great television but held my attention. The characters are interesting enough and there is some good acting. However the second episode was dumb. The guy being thrown from the roller coaster was dumb as was the amusement parks decision to stop the ride while the cars were completely upside down and left a guy hanging on outside the car for that length of time. Writing really seemed to slip from the Pilot. I would think that a lot of the stories could be pulled from actual events. The roller coaster thing was flat out dumb and unbelievable. Some of the drama between the 911 calls seems a little forced. Maybe have more 911 calls and less random drama.
