Cops Who Kill (2023)
Tried to like this
I really like these types of programmes and I really tried to like this one too. Unfortunately the presenter seems to be bent on showing his own disgust with the perpertrators that he is not coming across as professional. I just can't take him seriously. Also the psychologist always seems to have a permanent grin on her face. These people give the whole programme an unserious flavour and never seem to be reporting on the cases from an obective perspective. It would seem that the producers are trying to capitilize on the format of the "Faking It" series but have certainly missed the mark. Such a shame.
Car Masters: Rust to Riches (2018)
Shoddy work, filthy garage
While I did actually like this show, I can't figure out how this business model could ever work. The crew works without pay for months on end, hoping to score a big pay day at some time in the future. That's never going to work. There is also so much sidetracking. The crew working on a job for free sees that it is missing a certain part for the build, so they start a new build so that they have something with which to barter for their missing part... Really?? I didn't like Mark with his "I'm always right" attitude and then after finally converting on of the supposed builds into cash, he takes a fairly sizeable chunk of it and sinks it into a personal project. I thought it funny that Mark reasoned that if they had a badass shop truck, then they would be able to command higher prices for their builds. But really, any customer who steps in the filthiest shop I have ever seen, will surely run for the hills. This shop is definitely a candidate for Richard Rawling's "Garage Rehab". The builds looked OK from a distance but up close you can unfortunately see that the work is shoddy. On the spittin' image car the cockpit domes don't even close properly. The front of the car has huge gaps. Driving this car at speed will certainly cause the front of the fibre glass body to tear off and the wind in the driver's face throught the gaps around the domes make it undriveable. Having said all that, it was still an enjoyable show if I only knew which direction it was taking.
