The first 2 3/4 seasons are good to great but this episode and the next 3 seasons are the height of the show. When the writers perfectly blend serious and comedy and when the actors all really had boat loads of chemistry built. This is the start of the show we all love and that is now a classic. The episode that follows and this one are the real beginning of God tier psych episodes. This episode is a clear spoof on 70-80's slasher thrillers but done in a lovely psych fashion. The next episode is one of the greatest hours of television ever written , filmed, acted and aired. Jimmy Simpson joins the ranks to really take it over the top.

Where has this been, this felt like an honest to God installment into the LOTR universe where has this been hiding ? The final three episodes have been good but this one was just fantastic plain and simple. The story is finally on the move and next season is set up to hit the ground RUNNING. Sauron is going to Mordor to build his arm that Adar has in wait, the elves have their rings and the realms of men and Dwarves will be after their own. The harfoots are on their way and the stranger is one of the blue wizards as we had been hoping. Still not completely sold on him being Gandalf but we will see. Best episode of the season and show so far 12/10. Let's hope they keep this pace and flow for the future it can create one heck of a show !!!

This is clearly a fan service and with all the detail and care put into cultivating the middle earth. Lots of folks are complaining that it's starting slow and that's because it's Tolkien and not George RR Martin. Heads aren't going to role and there isn't going to be comically bad villains and over the role betrayals. This show is clearly building towards some epic middle earth battles and the cinematography has been the best I've ever seen in a tv show. The Orcs? Even better than in Peter Jackson's movies. The only thing I would like to see improved in season 2 and on is cleaning up the dialogue and putting a little more substance to the dialogue. Over all solid 8/10 so far.

This shows being treated like it's 5 perfect seasons of breaking bad or four perfect seasons of GOT. This show has promise but lacks the heart that GOT displayed. Part of that is the constant time jumps that are skipping over any possible character development that might have been possible for viewers to enjoy. The wigs are godawful and so far through one season it is a soap opera with dragons every few episodes. The dialogue is clunky at times and over all lacks the wittiness from GOT.

There's just not enough screen time and depth into the characters so far for you to feel the attachedness you felt by the middle of season 1 of GOT. And to be honest they didn't deserve Paddy or Matt Smith

Still it is worth the watch and you can feel maybe just maybe they are on the cusp of something worthy of the GOT ties coming eventually but the wigs need major updates for season 2 and the dialogue and pacing needs a major overhaul. Honestly looking forward to the SNOW show I trust Kit Harrington more than any show runner involved with this.

Easily the dumbest protagonist ever written. They continuously make decisions to put themselves in harms way and not do anything to save themselves despite 1000000 red flags. Then in the end basically allow themselves to be murdered and their kid raised by serial killers until she too is murdered. Is it really that hard to make the villains smarter and not just make the good guys morons ? Or are all these horror "writers" just lazy and it's plot convenience to have the good guys make it a cake walk to be murdered ? So many could have been good movies ruined by poor writing and this joins the list. Big miss. Skip it.
