The strength of womanhood
15 March 2022
Totally worth seeing. The strength, hardship, tolerance, stubbornness and dignity, integrity of these women fighting for whatever little money, the main character struggling to put food on the table, and being labeled a traitor! It's outrageous how the men sitting in their cafes doing nothing don't accept her willingness to work, so hard! And her children growing up in this environment one day they'll understand the work their mother proudly soldiered on for them. Knowing full well her husband wasn't coming back. Damn the war, all the pointless killings of men women children, the old the young, the unborn, such love and care comes out in the end, for the power of love will eventually prevail...xx.

Flashbacks
5 December 2020
I was very pleased to see this film, it had a mixture of Lynch/Tarantino/Coen touch to it. The acting was superb, the twists were a complete turn around, from a conspiracy theory to a full circle, does the mind play tricks on the individual or are they set upon? You'll find that you'll want to watch it again, to pick up from where things go weird. I watched it with headphones, which I usually do, and it prompted me to write this. I'll be seeing this again,I'm sure some of you will too...//Jimbo

Wings Of An Angel
7 December 2019
This is by far one of the greatest ever made. WOD has in some ways all! There's mystery, religion, evil, love, reality, surrealism, loneliness, kindness, caring, sharing, fearful and fearless, so much in one film, you can hear the silence, the intensity of the thoughts of strangers, the tired struggle of life, I hope one day if I find myself up there with Wings of Desire, I'd like to keep mine on...xxoo Jim A. Timeless Priceless Film!
15 July 2018
This should be under the "must see" films before you die films! I watched it on the plane coming home from a vacation seeing some of the family abroad and somehow everything fell into place while reflecting on my time away and watching this remarkable film. The title says it all. The technology of our society says it all. The power of what one man's struggle to save his final masterpiece says it all... All the actors are to be praised, but the goosebumps literally came from Ed Harris! I've always been partial to some of his mean stream characters/labels in other movies, but as he has done before, he's proved his harsh screened tough guy scenes, but the soft, humbleness that comes out of his art, are just as, if not more more brilliant! You feel it all in this power ride movie of music, film, photography, love misunderstandings and family. It brought me to tears on many occasions, well I guess I'm at that age. My wife who was sitting next to me knew without her even knowing anything about the film that this is one for me! And again, it was, it is. Sensitive or not it'll make you smile, laugh, cry, rewind in awe. I'll be watching this one again very soon, no doubt! I take my hat off to the Analogue era of self reliance...xx With love and peace//Jim Andrew Georgiades

Love Hurts!
17 June 2018
I absolutely loved this film, French films are masters at this type of art. The longing for love the unknown forbidden fruit. Not wanting it yet finding it out of the blue, again metaphorical substances, her pain is real, the stone in her body is real, not attention seeking as her mother would say. Just as painful as her yearning for love, to be loved, to give love, naive, curious... The parents strict in many ways we do not know as to what she went through as a young child, but it forms and shapes her womanhood. Her mind in turmoil, visions, fantasies that are alive as daylight. Twists and turns in the film that left me totally glued as to what is going on with this creature, this beauty, these consequences that are occurring all the time, her loveless marriage, her son... It's the passion of love, lasting a mere moment in a lifetime, and ending so abruptly. To reconcile with herself, in the end finding who she is, finding her inner peace...she is in reality a part of most of mankind.

A piece of emotion lost in space
16 June 2018
Metaphorically speaking this was great, full of innuendos, life, outsiders, the moment of love then decay. It may be a teenage dream, but what the heck, we've all been there, one way or another...

Excellent
26 March 2018
A piece of art, no doubt about it. The cruel world of a twisted relationship, Love in its best form, delight, ecstatic, psychotic, and death. A final round of abundance, gone beyond belief. Superb performances by Jeremy Irons as usual and Julia Binouch. See it, fee it, recognize it. It's in us all...xx
