Bad Filming
24 April 2023
I actually had to quit watching because the movement of the cameras made me nauseas. It looks pretty much like my home movies. So sad for a professional network..Seriously, why is the camera constantly moving ? Especially when there's a character or scene angle change. It's completely unpleasant and not the way a professional camera man would operate the camera. I doubt that I will try to watch again. I was really looking forward to seeing Nancy Travis in a show again. Sorry, Hallmark, but you lost me, again. I have to agree with others that it seems as if Hallmark is trying to compete with Yellowstone. There's no comparison. Yellowstone is much better.

Too Woke and Factually Incorrect Story
15 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ryan Paevey was the only good thing about this movie. This movie, I thought had great promise with the Christmas Around the World theme. It ended up that Hallmark can't even bother to get their facts correct. I guess they were too focused on being woke and virtue signaling. First the woke boxes the checked off.... Asian mom married to white man, biracial daughter, and two lesbians that had absolutely nothing to do with the story. Hallmark forgot to check off the most important box....acting! The acting, with the exception of Ryan was the only believable actor. The little boy was cute. There was absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters. The storyline has been done before....child taking over parents lodge and the love story. However, this missed the mark with they terrible act and lack of chemistry between the characters.

Now for being factually incorrect. Italians do not play the bagpipes. I even confirmed this with my Italian family, from Italy, We do celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes and La Bufana. La Bufana is the Christmas witch. My nonna told me she would bring chocolate on the epiphany. Why weren't either of these put into the storyline?

So far, I've been disappointed with Hallmark Movies this season. Thank goodness for their original wholesome movies from years past.

Another Christmas Carol Movie
15 November 2021
This was another way to retell the story of A Christmas Carol. Unfortunately, it didn't hit the mark. Honestly, I don't even know if the past boyfriends were ghosts coming in her dreams.... If three boyfriends had passed, it certainly wasn't mentioned in the movie, or I totally missed it! IMO, the character had dreams of last boyfriends who led her to see the wat, as in A Christmas Carol. Honestly, I didn't enjoy this movie at all. Hallmark missed on this one.

Sad It's Ending!
4 August 2021
I just learned that Home and Family Show is ending! I initially thought they meant they were going on a summer hiatus, which they often did. How sad it's coming to their final episode this week!! I especially liked the crafts and cooking segments. Maybe they weren't something I would make, but still enjoyable to watch and get ideas for my own projects/recipes. I agree with some of you, the hosts were sometimes annoying, however they don't deserve to be cancelled. Most of the time they were quite enjoyable, entertaining and kept the show moving along. Hallmark, please reconsider and return production of this show. It was the perfect show to escape from the politics and woke culture on every other talk and news show. The perfect place to learn about the actors and their latest movies, especially Hallmark previews. I, for one, will miss this show.

I truly hope they don't take down their website. I have so many pages bookmarked. I enjoy looking through the recipes, crafts etc. At least keep that up for us!

A True Story
19 July 2021
I was intrigued once I realized this movie was based on a true story. You cannot go wrong with Lacey Chabert and Warren Christie's acting. Not only does the story being tears, it's their superb acting that makes it believable and draws you in. Worth watching.

Talk Louder and Slower Please!
31 January 2021
I absolutely loved this show in the beginning. I think because it's based on a true story. However, during the second season, I just couldn't finish watching it. I liked most of the storylines and they were trying to change and make the system better. However, they talk so fast and softly, I became tired of rewinding and at times even turning on the closed captioning! Between their soft tones, which I found annoying in the first season, and fast talking medical jargon, I just gave up. Plus I am tired of the PC culture infusing their views into virtually every episode and every other tv show. I want to be entertained, not being told how society should be. I think we should all be nice to everyone and treat others how you want to be treated.

I won't change my rating, because the basic storyline is excellent, different and based on a real doctor's life. I wish the sound department would stop trying to make some shows so realistic that we can't hear or understand what people are saying. I think we are smart enough to know that softer tones are used in a medical setting in real life. We don't need it on a tv show. They didn't do this years ago. I have perfect hearing, so it's not that. Besides, after turning up the volume to hear the actors soft talking, the next scene where they are talking normally is too loud!

I'm glad everyone is still enjoying this show.

Average Movie
2 January 2021
As far as Christmas movies go, this was just average. Typical storyline of two main characters not liking each other to them falling in love. We must have our happy endings, after all. The premise is they have to work together to decorate houses and a street for the annual contest. Vanessa Lachay wants to have a year round Christmas store. The winner of the grand prize will be able to fulfill his or her dream. I enjoyed watching this movie. It was entertaining enough, with even a couple of laughs. However, I wouldn't out it at the top of my list. It passed the time and somewhat predictable, as these movies are. It's worth watching once.

Hallmark Outdid Themselves!
2 January 2021
Wow! Hallmark outdid themselves with this movie. The premise, naturally is a love story. However, this is set around dancing. A jilted Lacey Chabert takes the dance lessons intended for her and her ex-fiance to prepare for their upcoming wedding . Her dance instructor, Will Kemp, is a classically trained dancer and it shows! It was so refreshing to see true dancing in a movie. It even had elements of Singing in the Rain....only without the rain. This is definitely one I will watch every year. It was so entertaining and fun to watch Lacey evolve into dancing.

Maybe it's Just Me?
2 January 2021
When I saw the title, I knew immediately it was going to be about Italian tradition. However, I simply couldn't enjoy the movie. In fact, I didn't even finish it. I've read so many of the positive reviews here. Now I'm wondering what I missed! Sure, being Italian American, I could relate to some of the characters and their behavior. I usually see the humor, but I just didn't. Now I want to rewatch it to see if I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I had a horrible headache and thought a comedy would be a good remedy. If I watch it again, and enjoy it, I will update with another review.

Not Too Entertaining
13 December 2020
I didn't find this movie to be particularly happy and festive. Maybe it's me, having recently lost my mother and this is my first Christmas without her. I didn't card for the acting, either, with the exception of Marilu Henner. She always gives a good and believe performance. I also didn't think there was any chemistry between the main characters. I guess I just didn't like this movie, which disappoints me because I was looking forward to it. Perhaps I'll give it another chance, but not this year.

Kind of a Miss
7 December 2020
I was a little disappointed in this one. I usually love Daneka McKeller and Dylan in the Hallmark movies. Of course the storyline is similar to other Holiday Hallmark movies. It just seemed to me there wasn't the chemistry between the actors as there usually is. I wasn't offended by the gay substoryline. Even without him finding another gay man to travel with, the character was flamboyant and entertaining. You didn't actually need to see him find someone. However, it wasn't totally thrown in our faces with these gay men being affectionate. Still, the main characters storyline was entertaining and it had a happy ending, of course. I probably will watch this one again, but it's not one of my all time favorites. It's still enjoyable.

PC Culture Warning
7 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As I started watching this movie, I immediately thought of Miss Christmas. I wasn't particularly fond of that one, either. It's the same story, rewritten, about getting the town's Christmas free from a resident. Of course, there was the love story. The ending, however, was completely ruined for me with the focus on being PC and inclusive. I do not find this movie family friendly, in my opinion. I'm disappointed with Hallmark succumbing to the PC culture. Although the gay storyline was not the main focus, I found the ending to be offensive. I am accepting of others rights, however I don't need it thrown in my face in nearly every tv show or movie. Especially on Hallmark, which was a family friendly, with Christian morals.

Enjoying This One
20 November 2020
The formula is familiar with a new location, job and talking in love. The acting, however, was better than many I have watched. I haven't even finished watching this movie, yet, but I'm pretty certain it will have the familiar happy ending we are accustomed to.

A Great Fairy Tale
13 October 2020
Katherine McPhee and Mike Vogel star in this movie as the pair looks for their true love via their dreams. I realize that finding your true love through ones dreams is like a science fiction movie. Be assured this movie is a great fairy tale. The backstory of their dreams, which unfolds in the beginning of the movie, begins at a fountain. I don't want to ruin this review with spoilers, therefore I recommend you pop some popcorn and watch. The chemistry between the characters was believable and you keep hoping they will find each other. Of course, being Hallmark, you know they will. It's HOW that makes your heart pound.

For those who are trying to place McPhee and Vogel, here's where you probably have seen them. Katherine McPhee started on American Idol and ventured into acting. She was in a movie The House Bunny with Anna Farris and starred in the tv series Scorpion. Mike Vogel starred in the tv series Under the Dome.

Another Hallmark Formula
12 October 2020
Here's to Hallmark's formula romance movies. Yes, it's typical...girl meets boy....but in this one neither can stand each other! Of course, the fairytale happy ending. I've watched this movie a few times and enjoyed it every time. If course it's not an Oscar movie. You don't watch Hallmark for that. Instead we watch to escape and enjoy the happy enings.

Quite Believable ...
12 October 2020
I found this movie intriguing. Actually, quite believable and see this is how our society and technology is evolving into. It basically takes place at a global tech company, think Google, Amazon and the like. It takes you into the lives and privacy issues that may ensue with this advanced technology. Will this technology make us a better and happier society? You'll have to draw your own conclusions. Do we really need every aspect of our lives monitored by A.I.? My question to you is are you a better and happier person now that we have all of this technology? Personally, I don't think so.

This movie doesn't need an Oscar or other award, and it certainly hasn't received them. Yes, at times it dragged on and got a little boring. I wanted to watch it because it was Bill Paxton's last movie before his untimely death. I think the message is loud and clear. You're either going to think all the technology and privacy issues is wonderful for society or think as I do that it's not. I suggest you keep an open mind.

A Waste of Time
27 September 2020
I couldn't enjoy this movie at all. I couldn't even laugh at the poor acting or the toy rocket ships, as I do in other early sci-fi movies. For myself, this was a total safe of time. This is one movie I won't watch again.

Futuristic?
25 September 2020
This movie was to portray space travel in the future. I guess this movie shows how they thought it would be. No spacesuits with helmets. The travelers laying on recliners, and one simply strapped to a cot! 😂 One simply cannot take this movie seriously. Zsa Zsa Gabor is actually not bad. If course the dialogue is very funny at times. I don't want to give away too many details. This is one of my favorite campy movies. Although, I don't think it was originally intended as that.

How Times Have Changed
25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When this movie was made, there was no CGI. The special effects were the best they could do. The computers and navigation system is now completely outdated. This is why this "campy" movie is so funny. Yet I believe it was originally made as a serious sci-fi. It was futuristic back in 1968. Think of pre Alien or Star Trek movies. The one eyed octopus alien creatures invading a U.S. Space Station. Sometimes I laughed at the dramatic expressions and screams of the women. Other times I marveled at the space station's portrayal. There hadn't even been one yet. This was made before Skylab, even! Then there's their shuttles, which had striking similarities to our now retired Space Shuttles. I recommend this movie. Not for it's outstanding special effects of even the acting. Simply to enjoy, realize how far science has come and how far movie making has evolved.

A Real Princess!
13 September 2020
I remember watching this as a child. I already was a fan of Carol Burnett and remember being excited about seeing her in this movie on television. Afterwards I wanted my mother to put a pea under my mattress! Of course, being a little girl, I knew I was a princess and wanted to prove it! Lol This was such a magical movie for me from a classic fairy tale. I wish they would air it again. Yes, by today's standards the set is tacky. That's part of what makes this movie so good. A child could use their imaginations. The colors could be whatever they imagined them to be. If my memory is correct, this was in b&w. If I could find it on dvd, I would buy it, if only for the nostalgia factor.

Disappointed
12 September 2020
This was the first Names Cagney movie that I absolutely did not enjoy. To say I'm disappointed is putting it mildly. I found it annoying many times with all the yelling and loud talking. I think this movie was supposed to be a comedy. I didn't find it funny or entertaining in the least. It wasn't a good drama, either. I'm a Cagney fan, and if you are too, then skip this movie.

You'll Need a Box of Tissues!
25 August 2020
This movie is heartwarming and also heartwrenching. I loved it. I don't want to give away anything, other than it has to do with a young boy's class assignment. I swear, I used up a Box of tissues. It's a real fear jerker. If you're in need of a good 😢 or want a dramatic movie to watch, then this is the one. Settle down, relax and have yourself a good cry. I think it's probably one of the best stories.

One of my Favorites! A real Feel Good Movie
20 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Light in the Piazza is one of my favorites. Yvette Mimieux does an excellent performance of portraying an innocent young girl, who had been left brain damaged from a horse riding accident as a child. Yet, she is still a young woman. Olivia DeHaviland is her protective mother, who wants her to be normal, yet also protect her from being taken advantage of by men. Enter George Hamilton playing Fabrizio. How I love how Clara (Yvette Mimieux) says his name! George is quite believable as an Italian speaking English. He was coached by Rosanno Brazzi who portrays his father and love interest? to Olivia DeHaviland. Upon learning of Clara's accident and her simple mindedness, he comments that his son isn't so bright either.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful! The costumes spectacular. The storyline is as good as any fairy tale, with a happy ending. I could go on, but why add more spoilers. Enjoy the movie and get engrossed by the scenery. Enjoy Clara and Fabrizio's romance and love story. Just remember, this takes place in Italy, and some customs are different than Americans, not to mention the time this took place in. This movie is a cultural experience, as well as a feel good love story.

No need for the PC culture to watch if they're going to not enjoy this classic. I absolutely loved this movie. I never knew how cute and talented Sammy Davis Jr was as a child star. My reference was his many guest spots on tv shows and the rat pack movies. I see he started out as a child star. Truly a gifted person!
