Chris Tucker Live (2015)
Simply Amazing
I saw this on Netflix not even knowing Tucker was about to do a special and with so many comedians doing specials these days, I was somewhat sceptical about this release a) because I hadn't seen Chris Tucker in any stand-up since Def Comedy Jam and b) the amount of profanity this could potentially have.
I must say I was totally blown away. The jokes were original and actually really funny. I spend most of my time listening to stand up from a vast array of comedians (Jim Gaffigan, Brian Reagan, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart (before the glam) etc) and it takes a lot, a whole lot to get me on the floor laughing - but this special actually did.
Chris' impersonations are rock solid. A few topics dragged on for a while but for the most part he held it up and profanity while present was kept to "somewhat" of a manageable minimum. I came into work today to see if anyone else had reviewed this special and was shocked at some of the professional critics comments I saw. Give him a break will you.
Well done Chris - this actually tops a number of specials out there and you deserve to have your 15 minutes on this one. Not sure if its worth signing up to Netflix for if you don't already have a membership but for those like myself who have enjoyed Netflix for quite sometime, I have to say this was definitely a positive addition to the line up.
Traitor (2008)
Top Notch
I saw this movie during the weekend. Didn't have a clue what the storyline was. We see one of Hollywood's most under rated actors in my opinion. Don Cheadle is cold, he is calm and somehow you feel sorry for his character like Leonardo in Departed.
I like Said's character Samir as well. I saw him in Vantage Point and wasn't impressed at all but here he has a bigger role and more to do as far as the movie goes. This is a definite Sarturday night DVD movie with enough action and excitement. I must say I was a bit disappointed the way it ended; I thought they could have done a little more to tell us what happens to Don's character...However all round i think it was a brilliant movie.
Rambo (2008)
Violence Gallore
I'll give this move an 8/10. The violence and gore in this movie I don't think I have seen since Gang of New York. From a storyline perspective I think Stallone did a brilliant job in showing the world the true picture of current issues in Thailand. All round we see Stallone once again doing what he does best in army combat...This time aided by a team of special forces, we see more realistic fighting than the Rambo against the Japanese/Russian army we are used to.
The army general in this movie portraying the villain is cold. He had me shook watching this at the pictures. This movie is NOT for the faint-hearted.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
wow
This is a definite must see move.. How come this rating thing only stops at 10..I'm thinking 100.
From the opening scene, I think the movie makes the best effort to capture the Normandy Landings on that cold, gray morning... Exceptional stuff I'm a big fan on historic events and I think World war 2 put the world in a point in history that will remain in the minds of a lot of people. Not a lot of movies have been able to capture true and tragic events. A lot of movies try and create a superman type character. Saving Private Ryan goes into the mind of an officer who experiences bravery, pain and fear. It captures patience and Love.... I am lost for words
