Wrong Turn at Tahoe (2009)
Give me a break...
The only reason I watched the movie were the comments in this site- "the return of Cuba?", "What? A direct-to-DVD movie with Cuba Gooding Jr. that's actually GOOD?" and so on. Someone actually said that this movie is not "The Godfather". It's an abuse to "The Godfather" to use the two movie names in the same sentence. I want to save you from making the same mistake as I did (watching the movie), that is why I'm writing this comment. The plot of the movie is straight forward, it starts and there are no surprises to the end (just shooting and killing). It's not even a good action movie. During the movie the actors make some decisions that are not at all consistent and logical. The movie is really waste of time, so if you decide to watch it remember- I have warned you!!! Oh, and I almost forgot. The dialogs are like a few high school kids have gathered in the school yard and try imitating De Niro or Pacino.
4/10 (and that's the best you can give)
Irréversible (2002)
One of the most "fucked up" movies ever made
I have just watched "Irreversible" and the only comment I have is that I can remember just one movie, which is so sick, depressing and brutal- "Requiem for a dream". If you like that one, you surely will like "Irreversible". The first 40 minutes are the most cruel ones. Actually, the movie is really sick and is not for everybody. So think twice before watching it. Monica Bellucci is beautiful as always, which actually made me feel worse, because of the things that happen to her. In my opinion most of the people don't wanna watch that kind of movies. Still there are people that "enjoy" them. So if you consider yourself as a normal guy, I suggest you- don't watch the movie unless you want to feel bad afterwards. I watched the movie just because of the idea about the "reverse order" of the things. So, I suppose that they could do another type of movie (for example normal thriller) with the same idea- the things could happen backwards and it would be much more enjoyable. And in the end, if you decide to watch the movie, I wish you good luck :)
The Mist (2007)
a good horror film (a small spoiler inside)
I'll try to explain you why I gave 7 out of 10 on this movie, without telling you any big spoilers- just a small one :) It's really a good horror movie, I would say the best in the past few years. There were action, intense, everything was really great and I was ready to give the movie 9, which is really rare for me. My normal rating for the good movies is 7 (when the film is nothing extraordinary). Back to the movie- the plot was interesting, too. What was the problem? OK. Let's say that the ending was not convincing enough. I cannot realize why the hell they didn't try to take fuel from the other cars on the road. There were 5 people (OK 4 and a little boy) and none of them didn't suggest to take more fuel. The ending though is really good, especially for a horror movie. The only problem was that the audience is not deep enough in the movie to take the same decision. And thus, a great movie with a "good" ending is spoiled, just because the logic line is a bit cut. The audience and the actors are not on the same channel. That movie needs so little to be a masterpiece. In the end, I highly recommend the movie to any person with good nerves, who is above 18 years old :)
Red Eye (2005)
No mystery in the plot
I've watched the movie and I must tell you that I'm disappointed. There's no trick in the whole scenario. The end was clear in the middle of the film. If you miss that movie, you won't regret. It's just another ordinary movie, if you want just to pass the time, you could watch the Red Eye. My grade is 4 and that's the best I can give. I even can't write 10 lines for that movie, I just said everything. Rachel McAdams is a beautiful actress, but I don't think that's enough to watch the film. I've read that the genre is a mystery, but I didn't see any mystery in the film. The acting is not so bad, but there's no interesting plot and that's the biggest problem of the movie.
