The Runner (2022)
Well done music video/horror film mashup.
Been a fan of Boy Harsher for a while and didn't know anything about this film when I hit play. I wish more bands were this artistic and experimental in cinematic ways.
Paddleton (2019)
Heart wrenching buddy film
I love the Duplass Brothers. I enjoy how sincere thier films come off with a bit of quirky humor. One would think terminal cancer is a heavy subject matter and it is, but the sincerity that Duplass and Romano bring to their roles is heartfelt and touching. I myself am a cancer survivor and have felt a lot of the emotions presented in this film. In the end nobody wants to die alone, and saying I love you is something we should tell our buddies more often.
Travelers: Protocol Omega (2018)
Amazing! Beautiful!
A beautiful ending to season 3 with an opening for another season. Please Netflix, give us more! The actors were so good and their characters taught us so much about humanity. David and Marcy's ending and their whole story was very touching. I'll miss seeing these guys.
Heathers (2018)
Horrible
The original was perfect. This is nothing like the original. Not funny, not satire, not good.
14 Cameras (2018)
Will think twice before booking Airbnb again.
Creepy level 10+ Makes me never want to rent a vacation rental ever again! Mouth breather was off the charts psycho. I will watch 13 Cameras next, enjoyed this creepiest but kind of ashamed to admit it.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Netflix hits it out of the ballpark
Watched this over three nights. It's a beautiful series about family, life and death. A drama about family and it's issues wrapped in a ghost story. And a very very good ghost story it is. There's lots of time jumps and re-seeing some of the same parts from different viewpoints and this effectively built meaning as the series progressed. Not going to give away any spoilers but it will all make sense in the last episode. We need more TV like this! Bravo to the talented cast and to Netflix. I'll miss this family.
Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018)
Did we ever have democracy?
I've seen all of Michael Moore's films and this is one of the best. The film leads us through many presidents, Regan, Bush, Clinton, Obama, and Trump and makes the case that we're sliding into despotism. A lot of the film centers in the Flint water crisis. In the end we're left to ponder, did we ever have a democracy? And who is responsible for creating one?
Bad Match (2017)
Terrible. Can't feel sorry for anyone.
This film was pretty terrible. None of the characters are likeable and there's no way I could feel sorry for the main character. He is such a loser and only wants to bang chicks then gets upset when said banged chick wants an actual relationship. I only watched it because I was on a plane but if I could have escaped I certainly would have. Lame factor +11
