An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story (2013)
A powerful, unforgettable documentary.
I have just finished watching this documentary and have been so touched by the heart of this man that I nearly tremble. How honest his son when he speaks of the conflicting emotions of his love of his mother and the very reason he has been unable to love his father when convinced he was the murderer of his mother.
Justice was not done but more than that, it was deliberately not done. Evidence withheld, this man was robbed of a quarter of a century of his life and yet has no anger...only absolute faith in a God he discovered while incarcerated. I believe he has found happiness again and hope it lasts his remaining lifetime. A powerful documentary. Thank God for the contributions of the Innocence Project and other attorneys involved; thank God for the steadfast faith in his innocence by his attorney who refused to give up.
Dexter (2006)
Try it - you'll get hooked!
What a great intriguing series! At first I just didn't think it would be my thing - that lasted about 10 minutes into the pilot. It's suspenseful and each episode is better than the last. I was not a fan of the sister but her character began improving and didn't seem as forced as it had in earlier episodes. All the characters are realistic and their performance are outstanding. Each episode has me on the edge of my seat - all different from the last - no repetitions and thoroughly convincing. I'd never heard of the main character before, this is the first I've watched him in anything...and he is so believable it almost makes you wonder what his "real" life is like! If you don't think this series would be to your liking - do what I did and watch the pilot...incredibly addictive!
Twisted (2013)
A series about teenagers and for teenagers.
After seeing its rating and reading the first few reviews, I didn't hesitate to begin watching the pilot. It was interesting, not compelling; it is completely predictable. It's not bad, in fact, for a young audience, it is a clean-cut show and clearly depicts the same high school cliques that have always been part of high school. It didn't occur to me that the likely age range of those reviewing the show was probably between 14-17 years old. Still, I am on the last episode of the first series. Although it's not yet been confirmed, I have doubted from the first introductory scenes of the pilot that the father of the main character actually died in the plane crash (body not recovered). We'll see. Again, there have been no surprises thus far - a completely predictable, albeit entertaining, show if there's nothing else to watch.
