Napoleon (2023)
I'm so confused
I wanted to like this movie I really did. I was confused ten minutes into the film. I felt like there was a time jump happening or I missed scenes. Honestly it was awful. The only saving grave about this movie is Vanessa Kirby. Phoenix is just all over the place. It shows that he didn't know what to do because honestly anyone could have played napoleon. Nothing about his performance sticks out. Josephine and napoleons relationship is even more. Confusing and I can't tell if they like or hate each other. I stopped about an hour in because I just couldn't take it anymore. There were so many missed opportunities with this film and its just a confusing time jumping piece of garbage.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
I have no idea what I just watched
I honestly hated it from beginning to end. The interaction between each character is just terrible. Maybe it's supposed to be artsy but I just didn't get it. I want these wasted minutes back. This movie was dull and just plain weird. There was no character development. Nothing stood out at all from anyone. That monotone way everyone speaks is off putting. Does nothing for the plot. Honestly this was probably one of the most pointlessly made movie I've ever seen. I have no idea how people rated this crap so high. Perhaps people saw something I didn't because holy cow what drivel. I wish I'd never watched this.
Deadstream (2022)
One of the worst movies I've ever seen
I dont even know where to start. I can't tell if this is satire or if it's supposed to be serious. It's just a terrible movie from beginning to end. It's not funny. It has zero story line. And the constant girly screaming and overacting is so hard to swallow. Honestly, watch at your own discretion. I'm not sure where all of the positive reviews are coming from and I'm wondering if people watched the same movie as I did. It honestly is a waste of time and energy. Don't try to understand it. There is no rhyme or reason behind it. The special effects and make up are terrible. It's just not a good movie. Skip it.
Men (2022)
Wha.... What did I just watch?
The first half of the movie was intriguing and creepy. It hooked me. Then came the last ten minutes of the film. And holy christ on a cracker. What a bunch of pretentious garbage unexplained drivel. There was zero explanation. No reasoning and plot. You're not told where the naked man came from. You're not told wh every single male in that town looks like and how the women of the town dont seem to not notice. I can't even say it was metaphorical because it was just plain dumb. It was an absolute mess without any rhyme or reason. Save yourself some time and watch pooty tang instead. At least you'll get a laugh or too.
Billions: The Big Ugly (2022)
It's over
I've been invested in billions since the beginning. Axe was one of a kind character with Wags right there with him. Micheal Prince is a washed out sad version of what Ax is. Taylor has now become something of a side quest that doesn't even make sense anymore. The AG... When the series first started Chuck had a personal vandetta against Ax. I get that. But what is driving chuck now? What's the reason he's going against Prince? It just doesn't make any sense. And Wags.... Poor Wags. They dumbed down his character so much it's just sad. The series should have finished when ax left.
The Kids in the Hall (1988)
No. Just no.
Back in the day I lived for kids in the hall. It was the best comedy show representing Canada. But this? No. I got to the first five minutes and as soon as the two naked robbers appeared I was done. Why was there a need to show your dick? What's funny about that? Don't get me wrong. I laughed but for all the wrong reasons. It sad to see that this is what they are reduced to.
21 Days (2014)
It's been done to death
Nothing new. It's exactly like "paranormal activity" it's been done so many times. The acting is terrible. The plot sucks and overral the movie was a pain to watch.
The Neon Demon (2016)
What?!?
I like Elle Fanning a lot. I think she's amazing. But what the heck is this movie about?? I tried to like it. The colors are nice. But there is zero story line. The movie is one giant acid trip. Just didn't do it for me at all.
The Curse of Von Dutch (2021)
Ehhh
The documentary was good. The story was good. The person who ruined everything was Bobby. He is a terrible story teller. It was like listening to a 6th grader. He speaks like he's 10. There was no eloquence to his stories and it was just horrible. Other than that the show was good. Learned a lot about the brand.
Malignant (2021)
What a terrible terrible terrible film
This truly was one the worst movies I've ever seen. The story is so hard to swallow its not even funny. Ive never been in the medical field but just from a logical perspective this isn't even close to probable much less possible. The first half of the movie was ok. But once the plot was revealed I just couldn't stop shaking my head. What a waste.
Old (2021)
My god what a travesty
This has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting is beyond awful. I mean it's just terrible. The idea is good but what a terrible execution. Wish I could give it zero stars.
Annette (2021)
Ehhhh
Adam was amazing. He threw himself into the role as he always does and he played it well. That is where it ends. Everything else falls by the wayside. I'm not even going to address the doll that's a cross between chucky and Annabelle. The other characters have zero development. One minute they appear onscreen and the next they are gone and you won't even really notice. I found myself wanting this to end sooner rather than later. Adam did a very good job with what was givo. But I just found the whole feel of the movie almost pretentious and almost torture.
American Horror Stories: The Naughty List (2021)
This was beyond dumb
This episode explained absolutely nothing. Yes the guys were a$$holes and yes they fit the cliché of influencers like Jake Paul and pewdiepie. But it still didn't explain why Santa killed them. What motivated him? How did he get into the house? I mean why even bother. The one scene that killed it for me was when the police somehow contacted one of the boys and freely provided information on an on going murder investigation to someone who she had never met or knew or even spoken to?! Just utter nonsense. Sad to see this go down the toilet.
American Horror Stories: Drive In (2021)
Yeah, no thanks.
The first two episodes created high hopes for me. I've been watching American Horror story from the beginning and I consider myself a pretty hardcore fan. But this episode was just good awful. The story would have made a better movie than trying to squeeze it all into 40 mins. The ending explained absolutely nothing. The acting was terrible and it just didn't make any damn sense logically. I was sad to see such a bad episode in a line of usually good ones. I hope the next episode is better. Too bad.
The Predator (2018)
What a bunch of garbage.
This was a complete disaster and disappointment. Sad because I had high hopes. But it just didn't meet any of my expectations. There is zero storyline. The effects sucks. It's just awful.
The Beguiled (2017)
Just terrible
This was one of the worst movies I ever had the wretched pleasure of watching. The movies was slow in pace. Colin was good but his character became absolutely ridiculous when his leg was removed. Instead of feeling sympathetic my husband and i began laughing like crazy at his responses. Nicole Kidman had the emotional acting range of a spoon. I was more fixated on her upper lip movements (or lack thereof) than what was being said. There could have been so much more added to the film itself. Kirsten Dunnst could have brought so much more to the movies, the same with Elle Fanning. I would have loved to have known or understood Kirsten Dunnst' characters' reacting regarding the death of Colin. Or a deeper interaction between Colin and Elle Fanning's character. The movie also finished so abruptly without any clearer explanation. The best parts were in the trailer, which lead me to believe this movie was about something completely different. Its too bad because there was so much potential and so many possibilities but Sofia missed that completely.
