Deadlock (2021)
The hero has a gun with infinite ammo....
The 'hero' never reloads his weapon!
And he never grabs the weapon(s) of the bad guys he kills.
Bad guys flood the town and no one bothers to investigate why the dam's floodgates are being opened??
Hero bursts into room where BW and one last bad guy are.
BW is seated, vulnerable.
Last bad guy has weapon drawn.
Does hero shoot that dude and then BW?
Nope!
Hero (who has witnessed BW kill hostages) tries to talk BW into abandoning his plan.
"C'mon man.....you know this ain't right...."
Oh, and nice CGI blood on BW at the end.
Big Sky (2020)
Yeeaaahhh......no.
- The girl escapes but doesn't use any of the tools to pry open the panel to allow the others to escape.
- She doesn't slip the crowbar to the girls so that they can use it against the kidnapper when he returns.
- The trooper is angry at the kidnapper for drawing attention by being sloppy & careless. Same trooper then draws attention by acting all weird & suspicious when investigator arrives.
- Trooper shoots/kills fisherman w/girl as witness. Trooper then shoots girl in the thigh w/two arrows. She's a witness to a murder. Why didn't he simply kill her as well?
- Trooper shoots/kills Ryan Phillipe, arousing suspicion and drawing attention. But is reluctant to kill kidnapped girls because people are looking for them.
- Kid sister sizes-up their situation and makes suggestions. Older sister: 'OMG! You are so stupid and annoying!' Older sister makes no suggestions. Older sister is a drag.
Who writes this stuff??
Jungle Fever (1991)
Did somebody leave the radio on?
Soundtrack was too loud, and at the oddest moments.
How this movie was released with no one checking the soundtrack volume is puzzling.
John Wick (2014)
The music was too loud.
The music was too loud.
Characters are speaking, but you can't hear what they're saying because the music was too loud.
Big Little Lies (2017)
Why did they lie?
At the end of the 1st season, why didn't these broads simply tell the Cops that Perry was attacking his wife, they came to her aid, and down the stairs he went. He had a history of violent behavior.
Self-defense.
Case closed.
So why did they choose to collectively lie about what happened?
BECAUSE THEN THERE WOULDN'T BE A 2ND SEASON.
Rather than tell that story so that they could go on with their lives, they chose to be at the mercy of each other's conscience.
Dumb.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
What's the 1st thing you do when you find a satchel full of cash?
***SPOILER!*****
YOU COUNT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! But if that had happened, he would've discovered the transmitter.....and there would be no movie.
"Holy sh<>t!!!! I just found a satchel full of cash!!!!! I wonder how much is in there? I want to count it......but I won't. I'll just go to a motel on the highway and hide it in the ventilation system. Yeah. That's a good plan! But before I do anything, let me go and give some water to that dying drug-dealer........"
And this won Best Picture.....???????
.........good-god...........
Jimi: All Is by My Side (2013)
They couldn't use a real Fender Stratocaster?????
They couldn't use a real Fender Stratocaster????? Yes........this bugged me. This one detail........and they completely f**ked it up. When I saw that 'hooked' headstock, I said to myself: "OK........wait a minute......" I mean, if they were so damned careless with THAT.....then (I wondered) where else did they fail. Where else did they get lazy?
Then I read Kathy Etchingham's review..........
I liked this movie because it showed his pre-fame NYC/London phase. Yes, I realize liberties were taken. But as a lifelong Jimi-fan I can appreciate any attempt to tell his tale. As to why the producers chose to veer from reality........*sigh*.....
I was happy with Andre's portrayal. I've heard many comedians portray Jimi as either a seriously drugged out homeboy, or as an overly 'jivey' pimp-daddy.
And Waddy Wachtel????? Really????? Waddy-f**king-Wachtel??????????
...........good-lord.........
ps. F**k Janie.
The Abominable Snowman (1957)
I liked this movie!
Good flick! Very well done. There are a few slow spots here and there, but I was happy to find that this movie avoids some of the terrible clichés found in the 50'/60's 'monster' movies. Such as: A) The 'monster' pursuing/capturing the only female in the cast. B) A macho/swaggering male character whom the female lead falls in love with despite hating him at the beginning of the movie. C) Killing the 'monster' with fire. D) The wise old professor who attempts to reason with the 'monster' only to get killed by same.
Cool scenes: 1) When the team ventures outside of the hut after MacNee states that he'd heard a 'cry'. The cold, dark silence
..the mist floating above the snow as they shush each other and look into the darkness. 2) The yeti hand groping under the tent. 3) The sound of the yeti as it is shot by Ed. 4) The cries of the Yetis as the team examines the body. 5) Ed's behavior as he waits alone in the cave. His jumpy behavior as he waited and peered at the entrance gave me the creeps. 6) Ed's frantic screams as the Yeti enters the cave, and the Yetis shadow as it wrestles with the cage. 7) Dr. Rollason's urgency to leave after he hears the broadcast (on a radio that's been smashed to pieces). 8) The creepiest: Tom Friend hears Ed's voice calling to him. The way the camera zooms/locks in on Forrest Tucker's face is perfect. Ed's cries for help were also very well done. One of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen in a movie. 9) When Dr. Rolasson realizes that he is not alone in the cave.
