Reviews
P-Town (2021)
Great Cause
This is an unconventional love story that highlights homophobia and neo-nazis topics in a sensible and artistic way.
I particularly like the poster that encapsulates the Concept and the Lights of this night scene which capture the darkness of the human soul and set it against this message of hope.
Kudos to the actors and the quality of the photography!
Afterlifetime (2021)
A new take on Hades Mythology
Absolutely brilliant update on the Underworld and their iconic representatives. Charon sticks to tradition whereas Death takes advantage of all what modern technology can offer like an e-cigarette or a smart phone! The excellent acting makes the dialogue all the more fun. And, the visual effects are top-notch! This is a gem of a POC!
Blood, Sweat & Years (2017)
Excellent!
This film is a jewel in every way! The backstory is brilliantly told through family photos, videos and the narrator's voice which rings through a diary. The cinematic close-ups invite us into the characters' inner wounds and contrast with the wide shots on the infinite -- a pristine sea and sky landscape. The awesome acting is at the service of a heartbreaking story which should really see the light!
Cole & Colette (2018)
What a twist!
The story is expertly written. The woman's fear is visceral and contagious. We're rooting for her and feel so relieved when her boyfriend arrives... With bleach bottles and... Uh-oh, no spoiler.
Everyone's a Critic (2018)
A writer's fantasy
Any writer has once struggled against writer's block. Here the topic is addressed very effectively as a thriller. Tension is building up until the final twist. See for yourselves what happened!
Haunts (2020)
A supernatural revenge
Smart way to tell a flashback with the sound effects only. Kudos to the VFX, too. These film techniques in support of the concept are really effective. The dead victims of a serial killer looking for revenge is a feature I'd watch on the Big Screen.
Cravings (2020)
A new take on Zombie movies
A zombie on a vegetarian diet seeing a therapist is quite an interesting and original approach. Not to mention the quality of the acting, the dialogue, the music and the sequence shots. Cravings is really worth seeing... Until the end! (No spoiler :D)
Rise: The Artist Within (2020)
A great lesson of courage
This film delivers a great message of hope and should be released in Rehabilitation Centers so that people with disabilities may find within themselves strength and inspiration. The tiniest artistic talent takes root in personal tragedies then grows with perseverance and passion. The whole film is like a palette where all those who helped achieving it each applied their own brush stroke with talent.
