Deca na sonceto (2014)
Children of the Sun" - a visual expression of the human (in) excellence
Sufficient is a solar beam to blind you for a moment to let you turn inward and they recalled the sublime beauty of the world...
"Children of the Sun" is the latest Macedonian film directed by Antonio Mitrikeski that through the story of one big family caught in the grips with the local mafia and the strong love between the main protagonists, Mark and Angela raises the question of the eternal dialectic structure poles ethical categories , good and bad, love and loss, betrayal and redemption.
This seemingly simple story told in a quite avant-garde way with incredible dynamism leads the viewer on a journey 93 min. after which standard questions no longer have a standard answer, which opens the prospect of breaching stereotyped patterns of civilization placement.
Immediacy as a key element of cinematic expression of authentic Eastern European film aesthetics ripples through all levels of the film, ranging from acting to excellent VladoJovanovski, BiljanaTaneski, MetoJovanovski, MilicaStoyanova, the actors of the younger generation Ivana Pavlakovic, KamkaTocinovski through music of genius VlatkoStefanovski until costumes, stage design solutions that encircle unique impression.
The strongest part of the film art, and it is the visual communication in "Children of the Sun" is brought to perfection primarily due to the extraordinary poetry of the staff and the impressive art composition of scenes which causes high aesthetic experience in the viewer.
Pure aesthetic expression which is typical for films Mitriceski, predominantly present in his latest film "Children of the Sun", the director gives the possibility of having many layered and intensive communication with the viewer, as Mitrikeski great use in this movie.
Humor as director and dramatic intervention in the moments when the story experiencing the strongest emotional charge in January vivisecira reality through an optimistic and bright prism that has a strong charismatic effect on the recipient. Comic expression of human imperfection causes empathy that encourages the viewer to think about the different essence.
It is extremely positive film, which sets the drama, not address the problem, opens the options, possible solutions and beer the best.
Hence the basic philosophical thought that runs through the film, that we are all children of the sun, undoubtedly reaches the audience. This film spread optimism, hope, teaches how to overcome tragedies, how to reach out to themselves, to others.
"Children of the Sun" does not deny the human tragedy, on the contrary, shows us, puts us in front of eyes, he cuts through, and transform us is in a different form, which loses its tragedy, but raises human choice. The choice to choose love against death, kindness against hatred, hope versus despair.
Wheels (2014)
Through pressure comes DIAMONDS...
And this is a Diamond of a film. I watched and read a ton of interviews about this film. These filmmakers crawled through broken glass to get this film made and out came this unknown gem. I personally think if it had been done by a studio it would have gotten screwed up by the money and control. A gutsy film couldn't have been made this way.
This film touches on so many aspects that are too taboo to talk about. It blends them all into a sort of chaos shake and then serves them up with a salted rim. The way the film sways from emotion to laughter to emotion to pain, back and forth it really was put together in a way that has never been done before. And my favorite part was when they are crawling through the house with the opera music at the end. It just...I can't even...
The directors really made a masterpiece here.
Black Ruby (2017)
London Review: Empowering Filmmakers
Black Ruby was one of the few films that got the filmmaking crowd's rowdy at the London Film Awards. It was an inspiration for the aspiring filmmakers, yes; they can create their visions with their iPhones. Black Ruby is the first feature film in 2017 to be shot with the iPhone 7, although the entire film is not filmed exclusively with it. Visually the movie shows off dark colors, shadowy and gloomy, occasionally with black and white, matching the dark storyline of two Jazz musicians falling for a Black prostitute.
To the films credit we're not getting an HD flawless sparkling imagery. Much like the other films this studio puts out classical dated depictions. The storyline line is slower, musically charged and art house making it rare.
A good character performance by the actor Zachary Laoutides playing Louis Katz, whom has written his last three films. Speaking with the composers in attendance they confirmed British artists composed the soundtrack. I can see why the filmmakers in Manchester took to this film and applauded it at the end, an empowering film for future filmmakers.
Blood Money (2017)
This is really an awesome film!
Good old-fashioned Hitchcockian suspense abounds in this cracking and excellent thriller starring rising star Ollie Barbieri.
This was ace and everything you'd want in a Hithcockian suspense film. So taut and tense. Loved it. I think every body should to see this film.
Bane v Superman: The Movie (2016)
A DC that Marvels !
Bane v Superman: The Movie is totally fun and completely enjoyable. I turned it on thinking I wouldn't want to watch all of it cause most fan film stuff usually loses my interest after it starts. I was pleasantly surprised at how good and watchable this movie was. Warner Brothers is just done with making their movies any fun. Most people I know are super depressed about WB's recent efforts because although they may have some good effects and nice explosions and all that they basically aren't any kind of fun at all. This movie is definitely intense at times yet it still was content on being light enough to make you laugh and smile. It had lots of flashbacks from the past too. I really loved the use of all the classic music! How can anyone not appreciate those great orchestra scores? When I heard the themes set to this movie it really made me heart sing! I want to be able to be up lifted while watching Superman cause I think that's the whole point to Superman. He's suppose to lift you up and take you up up and away.
I love the execution of the Marvel franchise but I must admit I prefer the DC characters and I think a lot of people feel that way. Marvel movies keep working cause they're so funny and they're a good time and that's what this movie consistently reminded of. Batman and Superman don't have just be a doom and gloom bummer all the time. They're meant to be escapism after all and that's what this movie offered me. Bane v Superman: The Movie is a nice escape to a time when the DC universe had fun. The Dark Knight trilogy was good but I think it's time to lighten things up. WB and DC may not agree so in the mean time there's this movie as an option. I don't want to spoil anything but the credits really reminded me of Marvel too. I recommend it to you if you like laughing along with the Marvel style approach and if like me you've been waiting for a DC that Marvels.
The Distance Between Us (2014)
A Great Film!
This movie is made by unique story. The Distance Between Us is a refreshing movie for mind. Fans get see the romantic comedy stories. Full movie is full of enjoyment. The stars Rahul Rai, Leah Kavita, Ariane Mallon work is very brightly. Moreover writer and director Andrew Crane and Chandu Yarram are create his best for this film. Every sine is very naturally and full of exciting. I think this type is movie is perfect for win globally award.
Every moment and the sound track are very natural. I suggested my friend and family to see this awesome film and make refresh his/her mind. Ever this film is best to see in this year. I hope everybody enjoy very much.
Nobody's Perfect (2016)
I love this movie!
A must see thriller. I enjoyed this movie very much. The artwork attracted me to watch this film. It kept me at the edge of my seat. I found myself yelling at the screen, pulling for Sasha. That Morgan character was insane and so real. I hated him. Which also means he's a pretty good actor. Sasha really played a nice role too. There were some very intense emotional scenes. I was impress to see the movie didn't your typical happy Hollywood ending. So many others do. Nice music. It was fun to watch. Definitely worth my time. I will watch again with friends.I really enjoy this film very much. Every moment in this film is awesome.
The American Side (2016)
A Great Film!
Saw this film at an independent movie theater and plan to rent it to watch again. Quite frankly, it requires a second viewing because of its very intricate plot. I've read some reviews on here that make me think the reviewers went into the film expecting a more sensationalists film with lots of nudity and violence and were inevitably disappointed. This movie is much more of an art house film stylistically, actually the kind of movie that would've been in the mainstream theaters in the 70's. It's a great alternative to the current slate of Hollywood thrillers, where one action sequence is piled on another and the dialogue is totally generic. This movie moves along at a decent clip, but might seem slow if you're used to hyper kinetic editing. There is minimal violence, no sex or even nudity, and barely a curse word. There's some patter to the dialogue, but it's not self-aware.
The actors (a lot you will recognize) all seem to buy into the world of the story and play it straight, which is something I personally prefer over all the smugly oh-so-clever dialogue we usually see today. To his credit, the lead actor, who co-wrote the script, surprisingly underplays his great banter and one-liners, the way actors used to before feeling the need to wink at the camera like they do now. I'd actually like to see this character again in another mystery. The real strength of the movie is the growing sense of a larger conspiracy that the down-on-his-luck detective has stumbled into. The stakes keep getting raised and the alliances keep shifting, and we're trying to sort it all out right along with the detective. Ultimately, that's the fun of this movie and why I want to see it again.
First Anniversary (2016)
Awesome story!
A short film about dealing with loss and the consequences of it. The tension and anxiety are evident from the beginning to the end of this film. The story was well done with good acting. Both the man and the woman did a good job conveying sadness, regret, and reluctance. The nervous, anxious conversations and pauses helped set the mood for the film. The conversation about trivial things before they leave the coffee shop and their avoiding looking at each other is a sad and an effective way to get the point across. It is clear they are struggling and you feel empathy for them. The end of the film was rather dramatic with the walk through the graveyard. You suspect but are not sure until they discuss what had happened. It is a very poignant film. You want them to work through the loss and pain and be together. It appears though as she walks away that this is not possible. They still care about each other but can't get past the pain. I wondered what she was thinking as she walked away.
A Little Heart (2015)
Excellent creation!
Every man love music. This is the best therapy to keep happiness. Some type of music when listen anybody they go into his deep mind. He feel refresh in his mind. This short film "A little heart" is also like them. I see this clip and feel well deeply in my mind. This is awesome creation. Annette Prieto was director and writer in this short film. This is the best creation in his career. I like this short film. Also Breanna Baker play the vital role as gabby in this short film. He shows the combination of emotion and music.
I think everybody should to watch this mind-blowing short film. I enjoy this video with my family and friend. Only one word say to this short film marvelous creation.
Daylight's End (2016)
Excellent movie I love it.
I rated this 10 because I loved it. I don't care about what the others are saying. I loved the visuals, the acting, the actresses, everything! I personally like this evil film. The other actors and actresses are fine too. I really loved the story. I guess critics are really hard to please. But myself, I really enjoyed this film. The acting is pretty good to. I watching this in the cinema hall. I will definitely suggested to see this film. Evey moment is horror and action also. I don't get it why people late to see this movie. I'm pretty sure I will watch the next film after this. I'll keep supporting the Daylight's End film sure. Director and Writer are making awesome creation. I suggested everyone to see this movie and enjoy with friend and Family.
London Hood (2014)
Something Special...
A beautifully shot short film with great performances, killer sound track and a powerful twist. Watched several times with good sound and the ending gets my heart strings every time.
I'm thinking London Hood is a metaphor for Robin Hood... Hats off to the writer and also director. I see this short film and suggest my friend and family to see this awesome film. Some creation is really memorable this film is one of them.Evey moment and place is very adjustable for this film.
Moreover every character is perfectly showing in this film. I enjoy itself very much.
Adios Vaya Con Dios (2014)
Art wins in the streets.
A gangster art house film. There I said it, never thought I would, never thought I would see a Chicago movie about gangs play out as an artistic piece; reminiscent at times of Alejandro González Iñárritu's early work Amores Perros. This is a much more organic attempt at mixing real people and real places into a cinematic story. At moments I could tell the local actors who were picked up and placed into the movie from the theater actors (at times over projecting) to the film actors who performed in refinement.
Adios Vaya Con Dios is a mix of different intensities, but it works just as good as it will get knowing how movie was filmed. Zachary Laoutides' unconventional script gives us something completely distinctive then what we would expect a stereotypical Latino gangster movie to include. It's even difficult for me to call it 'gangster' or 'Latino' for that matter. It's something unalike on the artistic side of the tracks and because of that I enjoyed it. Art wins in the streets.
Maybe it's the euro rock music that was selected featuring artists from the UK and Mexico that transformed the tempo of the film or maybe it's the realism of every time Zachary Laoutides is on camera and we see his internal pain, a rather silent performance, but he doesn't need to say much. I'm interested in following the La Raza film movement, so it's been coined; to see what this group of artists create next as it's something fresh and stimulating, not falling into the cliché of movie-making.
Shady Bunch (2015)
Something Special...
Yes, this episodes is very perfect; I give it 10 out of 10. Full story is pretty and good job. Writer and director is found very unique story and present in on screen. Every character was different. I have seen other works by this director and hove not been as engaged as I was during the unfolding of this incredibly subtle statement. I think this episodes was very attractive and every sine was natural and beautiful.
I saw episodes and appreciate the whole team, who are involve this beautiful creation. I suggest everyone to see this episodes and enjoy very much.
Every creation have own specialty , So this episodes is one of them. This is really awesome.
Waterfall 1: No Words, No Sex, Just Relax (2014)
You have to see this film more then once
Was looking for nature sounds that were more authentic, this one is pretty good! the waterfall sounds are gentle with some background noise that sounds real, not radio like. The flow of water is soft and calming. The color quality is excellent with slowly changing scenes, filling you eyes with dazzling color delights, giving color therapy with every fluid scene. My mind drifts peacefully as I feel my shoulders, stomach, and body yielding to the complete sense of relation that the gentle flow of water bring. This is also relaxing and beautiful to have on as background while I'm working, relaxing or making dinner. You have to buy it. I can only assure everyone that it is worth. So relaxed you've never been. I never expected that a waterfall can impress me so much and change a big part of my life. I love it!
Safe House (2012)
A Great Movie
Yet another "Knock-it-Out of the Park Movie with Denzel and a real favorite of mine Ryan Reynolds. Together thy make a great team. Thrilling storyline, tons of action scenes from beginning to end. Not suitable for a young audience but that's my opinion. This movie was made for surround sound, bullets flying, car chases, bombs exploding it has it made the house rock, nobody slept though this movie. I would watch again, if for no other reason than for the soundtrack. This is a violent movie that focuses on the entertainment value of the script and not a bombardment of the writers political agenda. Watch it, its worth the two hours. I loved the actors in this movie, I thought they all were wonderful. I will see this again and recommend it to friends and family to watch.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
An excellent film
I saw Harry Potter around early December when normally I would've seen it on opening day or weekend and the first half of the movie I thought it was okay but now that I look back on the overall film I thought it was good. The book was amazing so the movie should've been to. After the third HP greatly disappointed me (I still liked it but it could've been SO much better)this really made me get excited for the rest of the movies. Why did everyone make a big deal over the visual effects? They were nothing compared to Star Wars 3 or even War of the Worlds. They certainly weren't worthy of being nominated at the Oscars. Although I can't imagine how War of the Worlds was and Star Wars wasn't. Anyway it was a great Harry Potter film with some decent acting here and there from Brendan Gleeson (shouldn't have played Mad-Eye Moody), Alan Rickman (has a much more brief series of appearances in this one), and even Daniel Radcliffe. An excellent film. I think I'll buy it. It's worth it but rent it first because you never know you may hate it. Overall this film has it all. Romance, a journey that seems to never end, the test of a friendship and much much more!
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
This movie is the best
This is one of the few movies I've seen that does justice to the book it represents. True, it doesn't follow the story exactly, but Peter Jackson did about as good a job as you can expect anyone to do in three hours. This movie is incredible. There simply is nothing to complain about. The acting is superb, with several cast members giving the performance of a lifetime. The special effects are breathtaking, and the stunts and fight scenes very memorable. This film captivates you from the very start, when it tells the story of the rings, and holds you until the last moment, where we are left to wonder about the fate of the scattered fellowship (well, those who never read the books, at least). I knew this film was a masterpiece when my wife, who hates the fantasy genre, insisted on seeing it 3 times in theaters. This movie is the best! i highly recommend it for anyone but small children. the battle scenes are great. Elijah Wood was once more playing the innocent hobbit on a journey. There is nothing but pure perfection in this film, and doubtless it will become as classic and legendary as the book that inspired it.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011)
Great movie
It's been a long journey, and we'll miss you all After this, I still couldn't believe I was starring at the end credits as the movie faded out and the credits started rolling. I think this was the best Harry Potter movie out of the entire series that made for a near-perfect close. Even though Part 2 did diverge from the ending of the book, the reason its getting the rating I'm giving it is because I do appreciate what everyone working to give us the great stories that came off the books. The books didn't do the movies justice, but I enjoyed watching them and watching Dan Radcliffe portraying Harry going from a once small innocent boy to a slightly grizzled man, and a wonderful one at that. I do appreciate what he did for the series, and in my opinion, he has proved that he was the right guy to play Harry Potter over the last decade. I hope that this movie does get Academy Award recognition because I believe Part 2 truly deserves it! So long Harry, Ron, and Hermione! Its been a long journey, and we'll miss you all! :)
