Frankenpimp (2009)
Not Fun Bad, Just Bad - NOT related to Frankenhooker!
I was tricked into watching this by the Frankenpimp title which makes it seem as though this is a sequel or spin off of the funny and actually well conceived and professionally done cult classic Frankenhooker which is obviously this film maker's intention.
It is also obvious just seconds into this amateurish turd that it is not related to Frankenhooker or any real film ever made. I wish that movie's producers would sue this fool but I'm sure it is not worth it considering this movie probably made like 37 cents.
That's one dollar minus the 63 cents it cost to make this boring turd
It is not edited at all. Shot on an old VHS camcorder I think.
The sound is garbage. The acting and script are worse.
This is the most pathetic home made pile of slop posing as a "movie" I have ever seen.
Plus the Watt goof who makes this crap posts like a million things about himself. Fake movie titles and shows he claims are " in production". Like a video of his cat in his dirty apartment he shot on his phone listed as a TV series and pretending the budget is $100,000 who you fooling man? Haha. At least that is entertaining, even though it is in a way he didn't intend.
He also promotes himself on the message boards and his "by popular demand" books etc... he interviews himself on his "talk show" begging people to buy his book? And the only comments are people like me asking him to stop. Also he listed himself as a cast member of the "Suicide Squad".
Get a life man and stop pretending to be a movie, TV and book tycoon.
A View to a Kill (1985)
Fun and underrated
This is not one of the best James Bond 007 movies of the series but it is far from the worst. I think it is one of the most "fun" movies of the series
Over all.
Also it is one of the very best Roger Moore performances during .his long run as James Bond.
The writing and seriousness of the double oh franchise was not as good during the Moore era but he was a great Bond and these movies though kind of silly and comic bookish are lots of fun.
I recommend it but then again I recommend.all of the Bond films... even the one with Lazenby ha!
Waxwork II: Lost in Time (1992)
Fun Horror
This movie is about a man and woman who end up fighting evil (with other forces of good) in a strange realm. It is like a mirror world and while fighting against evil in a general way they are also looking to find a way to prove that the woman is not guilty of a murder she is being accused of. There are Frankenstein and Alien stories they enter but the highlight is definitely the haunted house story with the always reliable and hilarious Bruce Campbell. They end up in a medieval story where a lunatic is trying to seize power and his plan is pretty weird to say the least. This story is easily the longest of the bunch but it looks really cool and the villain is great and they go to several different and strange worlds. This is a really fun horror-comedy-B-movie if you like this genre!
The Invention of Lying (2009)
The world will end if we don't have sex right now!
I had really big expectations and hopes for this movie and assumed it would be one of the best comedies of the year because I am a huge Ricky Gervais fan and loved everything he had done up to that point when I saw it (Office, Extras, his twitter) but ended up being very disappointed. My expectations were probably too high but I was not entertained at all. It's especially disappointing because the premise is really brilliant. What if people never learned how to lie? Then one day an average guy just figures it out? There are some funny parts but all of them are in the trailer. When Ricky Gervais approaches a beautiful woman and says he had just talked to the president and if they don't have sex right now the world will be destroyed. But the movie as a whole doesn't really pay off with many laughs and isn't an amazing story either. He could have done a lot more with his new found powers and a lot of stuff that would have been funnier or a lot more entertaining. Also we get it through your twitter etc you are an atheist so can you stop putting it in everything you do? The thing where he lied to say he was a prophet and God had spoken to him was I'm sure insulting to people who believe in God and to me it just was not entertaining at all. Use your movies to entertain me not spread your personal political and religious beliefs please. Also the stuff with the cave men was not necessary or funny, it could have been way more funny. Like the whole movie could.
La grande bellezza (2013)
Nothing Special
This movie is nothing special.
Maybe I would appreciate it more without all the subtitles but that can't be helped obviously and I would like that better than if they dubbed over the voices with English actors anyway, I hate when they do that! It's about a man who is older now who looks back at his life and more than that he is looking at the entire scene he lives in and did live in when he was younger. I expected more and deeper meaning in this movie than what was there.
It's pretty predictable story wise and on an emotional level. I'm shocked to see this was Italy's entry into the Academy Awards.
Not to say it's not a good movie because it is worth seeing but don't expect too much from it, it is good but in no way compares to great Italian films.
