Seongnan hwangso (2018)
Loved it
I'm not sure why the ratings aren't better. It's intense and fun, with great characters. Ma Dong-seok is incredibly like-able. Though dark, highly recommend for an enjoyable thriller.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
The writing sucks
The writing sucks. Animation is bright and cool, I guess, but the dialogue is like burnt toast, as are the wooden characters.
Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru (1960)
Low key amazing
If you love Kurosawa and all that's included, you'll love this movie.
Upgrade (2018)
Pleasantly rocked my expectations
Takes a min to get going but once it does it was fun and crazy. Def worth the watch!
The Death of Stalin (2017)
Wickedly Amazing
This movie is brilliant and funny as hell. It's also shocking and revealing. Not to be missed.
Ai no bôrei (1978)
Underrated
I found the movie to be visually and emotionally absorbing. Loved the acting. It has stayed with me long after viewing it.
The King (2019)
Lame Shakespeare adaptation
They tried to adapt Henry V for modern audiences but took out so much of the good stuff and replaced it with muted brooding dialogue and change up/add scenes that drag the story down.
La veuve Couderc (1971)
Def worth the watch
If you enjoy French movies ie moody, atmospheric and slow burn then you should enjoy this. Solid performances by everyone.
I soliti ignoti (1958)
Hilarious
Wicked smart and witty writing. Not to be missed. Great performances all around.
The Tin Star (1957)
Massively underrated
An understated movie. Not sure how such a superb movie is so under the radar. Henry Fonda is at his best. Finely acted and a great script. Highly recommended.
A Big Hand for the Little Lady (1966)
So great!
The writing and acting is superb and hilarious. Very underrated movie. Not to be missed.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
HBO can't finish a series
The producers fumbled this fo sho. Sad. Could have been amazing and had the whole world watching.
Limonádový Joe aneb Konská opera (1964)
One of a kind
This movie was such a fantastic surprise. Great director's vision. It's not perfect but I give it a 10 for it's all out effort and creative juices. Not to be missed if you're looking for something to shake things up.
Rancho Notorious (1952)
Pleasantly surprised
I've heard RN called underrated and under appreciated and I can see why. It's not the best or perfect but it's different from most. The story is lean but heavy in undertones and gives it weight and moves along well.
The Proud Ones (1956)
Not perfect but enjoyable
If you're a fan of westerns you'll enjoyll this. A little slow but Robert Ryan, great as always, carries the story well. Solid supporting cast. Def worth watching.
Il grande silenzio (1968)
"Renown" for giving the finger to the audience.
In real life true villains often win or go unpunished which is why we love watching movies where the heroes prevail. This movie is "renown" for playing against the hope we feel in watching heroes rise. If this were based on a real life story then so be it but it's not so they chose to be mean spirited which is not for me.
The Proud Rebel (1958)
Pulls at the heart strings
Very sweet movie that has excellent story development. A bit slow at parts but otherwise a great little watch.
The Last Hard Men (1976)
Gross and mean spirited
Dull story and by the end you'll have nothing to appreciate for your time.
Rio Bravo (1959)
As classic as it gets
A perfect "hangout" movie. The story moves along slowly but the time we spend with the characters bring out a richness otherwise missed. Classic performces by the cast. Great dialogue. Great score. Great western.
Day of the Outlaw (1959)
Very good!
The tension is very compelling and will keep your interest the whole way. Not a "shoot'em up" western but not to be missed.
Bite the Bullet (1975)
Not perfect but still worth a viewing.
It drags a bit after the middle but finishes strong. Great characters and scenery. Not like most westerns.
The Unforgiven (1960)
Decent western drama
Definitely worth a watch. Fairly one-toned but solid performances by the cast and a compelling story. Not a usual "western" hence western drama. I think the 6.7 rating here is a bit low. Hepburn is delightful and Burt is great as usual. Some great shots as well.
Wild Rovers (1971)
Feels like a misfire of a book adaptation
It seems like it could have been great but fails at just about every turn, unfortunatly. Likeable characters with all their actions unfolding logically and leading to dilemmas but for whatever reason the movie is rather boring and a bit over sentimental at times. It seems like the script was prob great but lost in the execution of production.
