One Fine Day (1996)
Think Once and Again with a little more dry humor
I hadn't seen this film in quite some time and suddenly it came on earlier today, this was a brilliant script with perfectly timed insults( loved the balls in my face reference, repeatedly) Clooney and Pfeiffer have wonderful chemistry and their kids are not only adorable, but really funny, solid supporting roles for Holland Taylor, Charles Durning and Robert Klein, to steal a line, restores my faith in humanity, a must watch for Valentines Day!!
Battle of the Sexes (2017)
womens lib wins 40 love
I loved this story, I had no idea of what the person was dealing with, a career, a tumultuous marriage, the weight of the women's movement, her own sexual demons, knowing it could kill her career in the blink of an eye, the world needs more people like Billie Jean King, a true trail blazer and renegade, a must see
Vice (2018)
Michael Clayton meets Zero Dark Thirty
I rarely go see Political driven real life documentaries or movies, but felt compelled to see this film with a remarkable cast, Christian Bale is amazing as D Cheney and Amy Adams and Steve Carell are fantastic, but this type of movie, going back and forth, decades ago to today, the endless fishing references and 2 and 1/2 hours of it, a tad too much, worth seeing, but glad I went in the afternoon and got the discount price
The Mule (2018)
So So flick
Cant' decide if I liked this movie or not, it moved at snails pace, as did the DEA, I felt like I was watching Gran Torino meets A Perfect World
Instant Family (2018)
A Jim Valvano kinda movie
Just what the doctor ordered, if this was based on a true story, props to the court system for awarding good people with 3 wonderfully, but challenging young children, the late Jim Valvano said if you spend every day in thought, bringing your emotions to tears and loving one another, that's a full day, that's a helluva day and this was a helluva story, a must see
Life Itself (2018)
A jim Valvano special....
I had to use a JImmy V reference for this movie, when he received his ESPY award and gave that once one a lifetime speech, Jim Valvano said the following," everyday you should do 3 things-laugh your ass off-2have at least 1 positive thought and 3-have your emotions moved to tears, well this somewhat encompasses Life Itself, minus the laughing part, it's mine kinda movie, no guns, no murder, it makes you think, chose, consider ponder, wonder, cry and reflect, sad how this type of movie is considered an anomaly, as opposed to the norm, highly recommend
Sex and the City 2 (2010)
No city and also no sex??
How can you make a movie called Sex and the City 2 when it takes place in Abu Dhabi and no one has intercourse, 2 and 1/2 hours of simply terrible film making
Woman Walks Ahead (2017)
So, so close
Had a tough time following the plot, it screamed a female version of Dances with Wolves, without the romantic connection. so close to being a good movie
27 Dresses (2008)
decent chick flick
I liked this movie and loved the Benny and the Jets bar scene, is the cast over the top too good looking..yep, but worth watching
Skyscraper (2018)
Average at best
Very predictable with unrealistic CGI effects, but loved Neve Campbell, sorta GI Jane meets Kate Beckinsale from the Underworld
All the Right Moves (1983)
Excellent movie
A fairly accurate representation of both High School; the peer pressures of sex, drugs and rock and roll so to speak and living in a depressed dried up steel town trying to make more of yourself, getting a degree and literally making all the right moves, although Cruise and Nelson are the marque stars the performances of Chris Penn and Lea Thompson are superb, 3 out of 4 stars
Molly's Game (2017)
Elba and Chastain, Oscar worthy
After the Super Bowl ended last night, i thought i would take a chance and see if MG was still playing, there was 1 theater still showing it at 1 time, thank God i caught it this afternoon, i went into this film with moderate expectations and left with my mouth wide open, just an amazing story and remarkable screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, Jessica Chastain has totally outdone herself, this is Mya meets Miss Sloane times 1,000, her vulnerability and range as an actress has never been better and Idris Elba was outstanding if not better than JC and Kevin Costner adds the perfect supporting role, best movie I've seen in a long, long time
The Counselor (2013)
awful movie
Just an awful piece of film making with a really great cast and a terrible plat
The Debt (2010)
9 out of 10
Probably fell in love with Jessica Chastain watching this movie, brilliant script and unpredictable ending, great thriller
