Jungle (2017)
Kept me watching
I'm not usually into survivalist films, but I watched this one because it came up as a suggestion and Daniel Radcliffe was in it. The movie kept me watching. There was at least one scene in particular that was excruciating to watch involving Yossi taking care of his body. Overall the film was extremely stressful.
Waiting... (2005)
Late coming of age...
Fun movie about some people in their early twenties working at a restaurant called Shenanigans (very appropriately named) through "the in between time" as they decide what they are doing with their their lives. Made me contemplate where I'm at in life for a bit as I compare myself to my friends who chose different paths than I. Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long make a dynamic duo. All the people in the film have a role and it's a great movie for a character study. The movie is definitely a product of it's time.
The Aviator (2004)
Cinematographically Beautiful
This film is beautifully made. Comparable to the likes of a Wes Anderson film. The golf scene was my only visual complaint, in order to keep the colored theme they compromised and it didn't turn out well. Leonardo DiCaprio performs well of course. He plays the role of the eccentric Howard Hughes and reinacts his life as a persistent businessman making films and building planes. Throughout the film, Howard Hughes's ambitions get bigger, at the same time he is experiencing a progressive decline in mental stability as a result of his OCD. The topic of his OCD is addressed well and makes good-light to the issue while some parts are exaggerated for the sake of the film. The movie is very long and it certainly feels that way, but I recommend watching it.
Management (2008)
Underrated
This movie it too freaking cute. About a completely clueless guy falling in love with someone who does not correspond to him. Goood character development. Cute story. Can't believe I hadn't known if it before. A must watch if you're into rom-coms.
