The Reality of Me (TROM) (2011)
Worth Every Moment!
A poignant documentary that delves into the dirty heart of our reality. Ever since seeing this film I recommend it frequently.
For many the length of the documentary WILL be a show-stopper. However, this is a huge misconception when confronted with this film. It doesn't take into account the frequent pausing required to reflect and digest the content. This is a story that asks for you to take time to weigh in on what is said. So it should be no surprise that you will likely see the entire film over the course of a few days.
Personally, I've watched the film in its entirety on a few occasions and haven't lamented it as a loss of time. With each viewing I get a more firm grasp on the world around me, using the tools I naturally have. This film has proved to be a good "self help" documentary for my intellectualism.
This documentary takes a multi-targeted approach to addressing the larger issues of today's society. Under this framework it picks apart not only the pertinent issues but how we, as humans, have created or exacerbated these issues. However, this film doesn't leave you guessing; at each bulleted point the film also provides solutions and strategies for framing the issues in their true context.
If you can listen to an idea, hold it in your mind, without feeling a need to decide one way or the other, this documentary will be worth your time!
