Collide (2022)
DIFFERENT KIND OF THRILLER
Some reality, some fantasy, some simplicity - but by no means disappointing. The plot, while fresh, was still reminiscent of some previous classics, some of which received award winning accolades. In this film it was truly amazing how things indeed collided, and not without a surprise or two to avionics the collision. The acting was great but some of the bloopers should've been corrected by the Edit Team. They were definitely to hasty in this area. Nonetheless, the movie managed to keep us on the edges of our seats. A different kind of thriller but still thrilling and entertaining. Liked it a lot.
Brooklyn's Finest (2009)
Phenomenal Film
This movie, although grossly underappreciated, brilliantly combines situations surrounding cops and criminals in the Boro of Brooklyn. Having worked in law enforcement in that very location for several years, I can appreciate why some find the reality behind BROOKLYN'S FINEST vexation to their individual spirits. The movie is akin to what might be considered modern film noir. It's gritty, no nonsense, and even melancholy approach at times can be unnerving. But one thing can't be denied, the dramatic essence of the piece is totally real (and I predict it will emerge as a cult classic if not more). The characters are all multi- dimensional and at times disturbing. No doubt this film will gain increasing accolades over time. I've watched it numerous times and my wide and I both truly love it. See it for yourself!
The Nightingale (2018)
GREAT STORY BUT MUCH TOO VIOLENT
Title speaks for itself. If you can get through the violent and severe brutality at times, you will see a beautiful story of the human journey from which none of us emerge unscathed.
Nocturnal Agony (2011)
AWFUL!!!
This was truly painful to watch and was devoid of substance.
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
RARELY GETS BETTER THAN THIS!
Phenomenal film. Can't figure out for the life of me why the critics hate it so. If Glenn Close doesn't get an Oscar for this, Any Adam's and/or Ron Howard certainly must. Anything short of this would be a serious injustice (I'd put it up there with the robbing of Denzel after he brilliantly portrayed Malcolm X in the Spike Lee movie of the same name). HILLBILLY- ELEGY is a MUST-WATCH!
Harriet (2019)
More Proof that Critics Know Nothing!
Just saw this wonderful film with outstanding acting. How the critics rate this movie lower than garbage like the Detroit riot movie of 2017 is truly baffling (can you say SMH?). Yet, it's additional proof to the timeless theory that "professional" critics know nothing and are increasingly detached from reality. Certainly, dramatic license was taken and the story embellished somewhat, but this enhanced its cinematic appeal and transformed a great story into an entertainment powerhouse as well. Two words for elitest, obnoxious critics: SHUT UP! Two words for the rest of us when it comes to critic reviews: IGNORE THEM!
