Obliterated (2023)
Loved it!
In my opinion, anyone giving this a bad review is taking it waaaay too seriously!
It doesn't take itself seriously, so why are you?
The acting is absolutely fine, even good, the story is nonsense, but it's meant to be.
It far surpasses pretty much everything else of this kind that Netflix has put out, it had me wanting to make time to watch the next episode which is very rare.
It has some cracking dialogue, that confirmed this was not meant to be taken seriously.
Netflix needs to make more things like this, that are fun, and don't try to carry a message or any such pretentious nonsense.
I hope they make another series, exactly the same.
The Consultant (2023)
Total nonsense!
Christophe Waltz was excellent, as always, but that is all this has going for it and the reason we watched until the end.
Nothing about it makes any sense, I'd guess that half of the screen time was not actually about the 'story', what little of it there was.
This was not deep or thought provoking, it was just bad, and a waste of 4hrs.
The fact this was made shows Amazon have far too much money to waste.
I am truly shocked that a few people are leaving this good reviews?
It's an objectively, nonsensical piece of television, that I'd challenge anyone to explain or justify.
I wish I'd come here and read some reviews first.
Avoid.
You: Joe Takes a Holiday (2023)
Wtf has happened to this show!
What the hell has happened to this show?
It's like they have new, (very, very poor), writers who did not bother to watch the previous seasons!
This is so different it should not be related.
Even the words used and they way they are spoken by the main character are not in keeping with how he has always been, and his psychology is the WHOLE point of the show!
To say we were disappointed would be a massive understatement, the first 3 seasons were some of my favourite television, but after watching the first 5 episodes of this season, I just don't care about the last 5 that will be released next month.
Nothing makes sense, and even allowing for huge artistic license, it still doesn't make sense.
A really sad end to a great character.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%! (2023)
Disappointing
I've been a big fan of Mark since he first started putting out his email which feels like over ten years ago?
I REALLY liked the book, and still think it is excellent.
This however was not so good.
It didn't feel right, didn't flow, wasn't especially interesting, I'm not sure how they got it so wrong to be honest?
I turned it off before the end, as it was borderline painful to watch at times.
It didn't feel like Mark's work, so I can only assume he didn't have that much input or get final approval?
I'd recommend spending your time with the audio book rather than watching this, you will get a LOT more out of it.
The Terminal List (2022)
Disappointing so far
I thought the first book was superb! (Some of the sequels not so much).
And so far this adaptation seems to have very little to do with the book at all.
Even on its own merit it is slow to the point of boring, like some of the later books.
A real pity, but not a surprise tbh.
Roadkill (2020)
Could have been great, but wasn't
It felt lazy and confused to me, lots of half ideas, but nothing very good.
The background music was really, really annoying, and did not fit the series at all in my opinion.
Laurie was good, to the point it was frustrating that the writing/story were not a great deal better.
X (2022)
Excellent!
Going back to an old style of horror ironically makes this feel quite original in today's landscape of CGI and nonsense.
Very nicely done indeed.
More film makers should take note that simple is often better.
Cosmos (2019)
What a great film!
The fact it was shot in almost zero budget should make most filmmakers hang their heads in deep shame!
The direction, cinematography, acting etc were all excellent in this gem of a movie.
Highly recommended.
Reacher (2022)
I didn't like the book, but I really liked this.
I didn't expect to get past 20 minutes to be honest, but I loved it!
Better than the two films and the first book in my opinion.
Well worth a watch.
Jackass Forever (2022)
Made me laugh hard!
It has been a while since I've watched any of the films, but I don't remember any of them making me laugh this much.
Yes it is 90 minutes of them mostly abusing each others genitals, but it is the laughter from them that is infectious.
Scream (2022)
Excellent!
After a couple of less than great sequels, they smashed it with this one!
Funny, violent, self deprecating, everything it should be.
My daughter and I love it.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Truly terrible!
The 9/10 rating on here shows how manipulated these ratings are.
This film was so boring and dragged out, and there was no point to any of it.
So much cgi it was like watching a cartoon much of the time.
If I'd not been with my daughter I'd have left half way through.
I genuinely struggled to stay awake and felt angry at how bad it was by the end.
Tom was great as always, but the film sucked.
Sex Education: Episode 4 (2021)
WTF has happened to this program?
This was one of the best things Netflix ever made, so clever in so many ways, truly enjoyable, but season so far is just 'woke' trash!
With this episode being the worst so far.
It is not funny, or insightful, it is just annoying, and I absolutely loved the first two seasons and have watched them multiple times.
Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
Save yourself, avoid at all costs!
There are no words to do justice to how bad this is.
All adjectives fall short.
Do literally anything rather than watch this pile of warm excrement.
If not for his bromance with Rogan it would never have seen the light of day.
Lucifer: Partners 'Til the End (2021)
Absolutely atrocious!
This is not a 'hater' review, it's an honest review.
The whole of session 6 was terrible, and this episode was the worst by far.
It was so badly written at times I thought it had to be a joke!
Every episode had at least 5 minutes of really annoying and pointless music where nothing happened.
As if Netflix just had too much money so thought it would throw some away on royalties.
Such a total waste of what could have been a great final season.
Genuinely disgraceful.
Wrath of Man (2021)
What is this???
I generally like Guy Richie films and don't have high expectations, but this was awful.
To the point it almost seemed like a parody at times.
The dialogue is so bad almost every line made me cringe, and normally ok actors were terrible.
At no point did this feel like a Guy Richie movie.
Very disappointed.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Now more than just a good movie.
Wow, this turned out to be very prophetic!
Hopefully it may strike a nerve in some for whom normal common sense is lacking.
Although we are now heading towards Communism, not fascism, but there is very little difference when you truly look into the ideologies.
Natalie Portman is not the best, but the other roles, especially V, are well played.
No Time to Die (2021)
How can something this badly written get made?
This film is laughably bad, it is factually bad, so anyone giving it a good review is either lying or was not paying attention.
The whole storyline was at best pointless, an essay could be written on the plot holes.
They clearly turned the 'virus' into something else and recut the film which is pathetic.
The female 007, was horrendous, atrocious acting, an awful part, terrible script, an altogether fail of an idea from start to finish!
I'm 44 and my daughter is 16, and we both thought it was terrible, so it is not an age thing.
I could go on and on, but I'm sure most of it has already been said in other reviews.
It felt like a bad rip off of Bourne, The Avengers, and The Rock, nothing original about this at all.
Hollywood has far too much money to waste, and clearly no one to proof read scripts and story ideas.
A terrible shame what Bond has turned into, as it is 'Bond', not 007, it never was 007, the character is James Bond.
You (2018)
Brilliant!
If you have any understanding of psychology, and mental disorders you will truly appreciate how good this show is and how great the actors are.
Can't wait for the third season which looks original, not just the same again.
Aliens (1986)
Still puts most movies to shame!
I've just seen this at the cinema for the first time, as I was only 10 when it was originally released.
I've seen this movie probably 50 times in the last 33 years, and it is still an awesome classic.
There were only a few seconds here and there where it showed it's age, and they could easily be cut with nothing lost.
The lack of CGI and constant quick cuts made for an indescribable experience.
Modern movie makers could learn a great deal from looking back, rather than forward.
With the exception of 'Nobody', I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw what I'd consider to be a great movie?
House M.D.: No Reason (2006)
Absolute poop!
What a load of pretentious pointless nonsense!
This episode was so bad it genuinely made me angry I'd wasted an hour watching it.
House M.D.: Sports Medicine (2005)
Very flawed episode
I'm really liking this so far, which is rare, as I am not normally a fan of series.
But this episode was factually flawed when it came to the science, badly so.
Steroids don't weaken bones, the opposite if anything, and have little to no effect on the kidneys except indirectly if BP is elevated for an extended period.
This was so bad it was borderline propaganda.
Pity.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
Either be funny, or just stop!
Such a huge shame that a program which used to be so good has become so awful!
Have some integrity people and refuse, you don't need the money.
The last season was not that great, but at least it didn't involve all this political bs and propaganda.
Avoid at all costs.
They Live (1988)
Unfortunately this film has aged very well.
A fun film with a serious message.
More relevant now with 'social media' than ever.
If only more people would put the glasses on.
Loki (2021)
Just stop!
Why are you people intent on destroying what was a decent set of films with these awful spinoff series?
Loki was possibly my favourite character in the MCU, and you have ruined him.
You have enough money, just leave things as they were.
