Early Edition (1996)
A time before wokeness took over
I loved this show & fell in love with Kyle Chandler or maybe the character he played, Gary Hobson. He was perfect for the role. I fell in love with him all over again as Coach Taylor in Friday Night Lights. Early Edition reminds me of how enjoyable & light hearted shows were. The character used his moral judgement in deciding how to react to future events, that only he knew about. Unfortunately, in 2020s TV, he wouldn't help, just post videos of incidents on social media because he'd be afraid of misgendering someone or being called a privileged cis white male or racist. Be fun to re-watch it.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
I just really like Chris Pratt!
I liked the 1st half of the movie but then started getting bored. I'm not sure what it is about Chris Pratt but he is just so likeable & I always want anything he's in to do well. The movie was fun & I liked the wholesome, family dynamics of it plus they didn't go all overboard on the global warming thing, for once. Nowadays, I'll start any movie that doesn't shove liberal politics down my throat with a 5.
Overall. I enjoyed the movie & gave it a 7 but without Pratt, maybe a 5.
Collateral (2018)
Propaganda
I guess there's a plot, other than shoving their leftist propaganda, but not worth sitting through all of it to figure it out what that might be
End of Watch (2012)
Wow, What A Great Movie
This movie really got my attention. The bond between the 2 officers was so strong & believable, felt totally real. I kept forgetting it was a movie & not a documentary. My heart was racing during several scenes, I laughed a lot & I cried. Great movie & would recommend it to anyone, especially in 2020, when police are viewed in such a horrible way. This movie shows they are just regular people doing a dangerous job.
Primrose Lane (2015)
Bad, just Really Bad
Terrible acting, ridiculous plot & not a horror movie, maybe a bad comedy. Stupid conversation regarding immigration for no reason. Gay guy"s acting was only good when he wasn't trying to sound gay. I can't say 1 good thing about this movie.
The Assent (2019)
Not a Horror Movie but Not that Bad
I have seen movies that deserve a 1 rating or even a negative rating but not this movie. The Assent was a bit slow & absolutely not scary. I would not call it a horror movie but a psychological thriller. I went into it with very low expectations so maybe that's why I have a higher opinion than others but there is no way I would rate it a 1. I thought most of the acting was good, atmosphere was good, plot was believable & I watched it all the way without losing interest. Not a great movie, not a horror movie but not a movie I regret watching, better than a lot of the crap they make now days.
Cop Car (2015)
Really Fun & Enjoyable
Totally surprised at how much I liked this movie. i hadnt heard anything about this movie & it looked like some low budget film that Kevin Bacon had to do cause he owed someone but I was wrong. It was very entertaining & Kevin Bacon was so spot on as the Sherriff, the faces he makes & his mannerisms are a perfect match. I thought it seemed a bit slow at first but (possibly a spoiler here) once I saw Bacon running, trying to find his car, I was hooked.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Bad, just bad
I had to give this movie some points because of the cast but the movie is a 0. Boring, no plot, no nothing. I paid $2.99 plus tax for a few funny lines. So sad & such a waste of those talented actors/actresses.
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
8 for Acting, 2 for ANTIFA type plot
Spoilers ahead! Really enjoyed movie up until 2006 then it went in the crapper. Thought it was going to be a fun, somewhat predictable syfy type movie. Thought acting by all was great, maybe not totally believable fight scenes between small girl & trained cops but liked watching lead actor plus Michael C Hall. Then 2006 happened & knew it was just another Hollywood movie pushing leftwing politics with a total bs plotline, only ANTIFA would love. They do plotlines pretty much the same way they do politics, smoke & mirrors. She says we can't change time but good thing she went back & changed time. I guess this is how movies are now & just have to ignore the politics & social justice crap.
Cold in July (2014)
Johnson in great form!
SPOILER ALERT: Last paragraph is character discription, which can be spoiler.
Really enjoyed this movie. Fan of all 3 male leads but haven't seen anything with Don Johnson that I liked since Miami Vice & Nash Bridges. His character steals every scene from the others. My crush on him from the 80s came crashing back. But, this movie would still be good with another actor playing Jim Bob. Great story, great pace, great direction, starts out with a bang & never stops. Watch it if you like 70s-80s type movies.
SPOILER ALERT: It has a flashy private detevtive, hard con with soft heart, introverted & awkward family man with a station wagon, bad mafia types & dirty cops.
The Witch in the Window (2018)
Turned it off after 2 mins
Normally, I just ignore the politics in movies/tv, otherwise there wouldn't be anything to watch but this movie had to open with global warming & a slam at the President. At least, get me interested before throwing your politics in my face.
