Fargo: The Pretend War (2020)
Very disappointing
I've picked this episode to comment on Season 4 because this is when I decided to give up :( The previous seasons had lots of humour, 'Minnesota nice' and great characters - this season has none of that. The only great quirky character is Timothy Olyphant's Mormon detective, and he's not in it enough to carry the whole thing. I'm rewatching Season 1 & realising what's missing - I used to tell everyone it was the best show on TV, I won't any more. Seasons 1 & 2 are outstanding - this one has made me sad.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Grim
Do not watch this unless you are close to suicidal anyway and just need that one thing to push you over the edge
Trickster (2020)
Love it 💕
I'm only on Ep.2, but this is my favourite series for a long time - I'm a big fan of Northern Exposure, and the X-Files, and this has hints of both but is still utterly unique - I love the real characters, the real scenery and the dark magic as well - so far, pretty damn perfect
The Passion (2008)
brilliant depiction of the Easter story
I have just bought this on DVD from Amazon after years of failing to find it on Netflix, Prime or youtube. In my opinion it's a really wonderful dramatisation of the Easter story - and Joseph Mawle is the best Jesus I've ever seen. He looks very similar to the image on the Turin Shroud, and I wonder if this was deliberate? That face . . . those eyes. But he also manages to portray a man who is also a son of God, which is no mean feat. All in all, a fantastic production that seems to have not got as many plaudits as it deserves - for anyone wanting to watch something at Easter to remind them of what it is really all about, you can't go wrong with this :)
