Beautiful atmospheric horror.
7 April 2020
This was exceptionally done, deliberate, poised, brimming with thick atmosphere and beautifully composed and lit. It's not an outright horror film and that's where people went wrong with their ratings or expectations I think. It's a grim fairytale, but it carries so much weight of dread and beauty that I was transfixed by it. I really loved it, it's a meditation of cruel upbringing. If you wanna widen your views on horror with its shades, watch it!!

A great film.

A truly great film with beautiful direction, perfect pacing and a singular voice. This film is what we all need right now in cinema, something truly it's own and doing nothing else. And it represents us, the "losers" like me, it has finally given me my character that I can relate to; The guy who just sits and relaxes in his couch. It's a crazy ride with a character and story that never leaves a couch which a guy sits on and plays PAC-man for 90 minutes, I love it and if you are like me, you'll love it to.

An easy enjoyable film.

I could see myseld and my brother, well my whole family in the picture. And I didn't ever know if the dialogue was written or not, that's the biggest compliment I could ever give to a film. So Watch it and have fun!

Great show for cineasts!
16 October 2018
This show is great! It's paced excellently, it looks awesome, it's got all of the people you would wanna hear talk about horror and it's got one of the best tv intros I've seen!

Edgar Wright, Tom Savini, Greg Nicotero, Elijah Wood, Quentin Tarantino, John Landis, are just some of the people talking about the horror genre. It's insightful, interesting, fun, and it's all made for the people who love the horror genre. So, watch it and enjoy the best show of horror out there!

Detour (I) (2016)

A really fun ride!
21 January 2017
A film that plays with time in a fun way, with great direction by Christoper Smith, fantastic cinematography by Christopher Ross, and really believable acting by Tye Sheridan and the rest of the cast. I loved this film, but I thought it could have been better paced. The film sometimes slows down quite a bit, especially in the first half of the film. I feel that 4-5 minutes could have been cut. But that didn't really hurt the film to much, it was a great ride with a story that was really interestingly told. It's not a new way to tell a story but it's a fun take on the "Pulp fiction" time line story telling. So if you want a really fun ride with great filmmaking then watch Detour! So I'd say watch it and enjoy!

Unbreakable (2000)

Masterclass film directing.
18 December 2016
Unbreakable is master-class filmmaking. M.Night Shyamalan made one of the most well directed film that I have ever seen. Ever scene starts at zero and slowly reveals its components, revealing part after part, and it doesn't ever stop revealing itself. Every scene is almost perfect, every shot perfectly composed, every camera move perfectly used and needed, not for style but for story too. Everything is exactly where M.Night Shyamaln wanted it, everything, every little thing is Precise, every little detail, every little thing is exactly where it's supposed to be. The camera is as utilized as much as in Citizen Kane, and it doesn't ever disrupt the story nor scene either, it's placed with certainty. It's never to show off or highlight something, it's their because story said so. And the very absent of coverage is saying a lot, that every scene was shot the way he wanted, he didn't have any escapes, everything was worked out and worked perfectly, that's some freaking confidence and filmmaking. And this film follows the rule in film better then most I think "Show don't tell" But it does so magnificent, and it's never on the nose either, it's just perfect direction. The film is meticulously directed. It's perfect direction from M.Night Shyamaln. One of the absolute most well directed films ever.
