A Very Married Christmas (2004)
A hilarious Christmas romp starring Jessica Beitchman!
Of the Movies starring Joe Montegna, this may be my Favorite. Jessica Beitchman is cute, sexy, and hilarious as Montegna's assistant "Bambi". Where on earth did this girl come from? What else can I see her in? I should check out IMDb... oh... right (heh heh). Beitchman is Lucille Ball reincarnated with the ability to make you both laugh and cry and the cry and then laugh some more! Her performance tugs at the Heart strings. I would love to see another movie where Beitchman and Montegna work together again. They are a charming comic man-woman team that keeps the audience begging for more. Can you say: SEQUEL! Sure, I enjoy Joe on the Simpsons (who doesn't), and he's been involved in such notable movies as the Godfather trilogy, but this movie really shows us that he has the acting chops to pull off both comedy and Drama. Truly an actor's actor!
The Wonderful World of Disney: Eloise at the Plaza (2003)
Polly does it again as "Debutante Linda"
I am a huge fan Of Jessica Polly (credited Beitchman). When I heard that she was in this movie I just had to see it. Normally I find Disney movies passe and trite, but if you're in the mood for it, this movie is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's an enjoyable romp for romp's sake. But let's talk more about Jessica, shall we? (sigh) And how 'bout that Julie Andews. She is it! Seriously though, the movie is great for kids of all ages with a little something for everyone to enjoy. Music, laughter, even ballroom dancing! I watched this movie with my nieces and nephews and they laughed so hard. We all had a spectacular time. I don't know if the movie is available on DVD, but if it is, by all means rent it. You won't be disappointed.
Out of the Ashes (2003)
A moving account of a female Doctor being held ina WW II concentration camp.
Jessica Beitchman as Marta Weiss was the most captivating character of this piece. Considering the company she's keeping in the movie (Christine Lahti, Beau Bridges, Richard Crenna) that is an incredible accomplishment. The movie was a touching yet horrifying account of a female Doctor in a WW II concentration camp. In it, Doctor Gisella Perl (Christine Lahti) helps Marta Weiss (Jessica Beitchman) while imprisoned together in Auschwitz and the two are reunited once again in America. When the American authorities suspect the good Doctor of voluntarily participating in experiments conducted by the "Angel of Death" Dr Josef Minghela, Perl must now rely on the testimony provided by young Marta Weiss to help free her in the land she came to be free in, America. It is the extraordinary tale of the holocaust survivors that came to the USA after enduring the unimaginable while trapped in Nazi occupied Europe in the 1940's.
