Star-Crossed (2014)
Star-crossed is a great show which promises more
Star-crossed provided an a very good introduction to the main plot and whats at state the world. It stars Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night lights and Matt Lanter who as leads hold there own.
The rest of the cast is also great. While we are introduced to a lot characters you can tell that we have barely began to see their back story which influences us to watch more of it. As a viewer I cant wait until the next episode to be shown this promises to be a strong show.
I found the story simple and I found it really enjoyable to watch. I would really recommend this show and suggest this is one of better shows that the CW have made. So keep watching it.
Les Misérables (2012)
Les Miserables was really awful
As a big fan of the musical since I was the age of 10 (15 years) I was very much looking forward to the creation of a film. First i'd like to congratulate Tom Hooper for bring real singing back real singing back to movies. Yes indeed studio recording are gone.
The movie start off with a rather epic beginning which i thought was rather exciting and the visual was powerful. I slowly counted down to the moment when Javert (Russel Crowe)would enter the musical. As I was always worried about his singing abilities (his album) perhaps best poked fun at by South Park. He was much better than I expected him to be so I feel that I have to give him some credit for that. However I overall felt that his performance lacked power, conviction, self assurance. As this is such a key role in the film i felt that a lot was taken away.
Hugh Jackman was OK i felt that 'Bring him home' was especially week. Although yes you can not compare him to Tom Wilkonsson (the original Valjean) by any measure of the imagination. His performances were quite lack luster and most songs lacked rise and fall. For me he does NOT deserve to win a Oscar compared to the other performances in the category.
perhaps the biggest mistake of the film was the casting of the Thénardier's which are suppose to be the comedy character of Les Mis. There scenes were carefully constructed however EXTREMELY poorly executed. I've never laughed less compared to the other times i've seen the musical on DVD or on stage. Their songs were sung really poorly and I felt the didn't suit the roles. The actors came across as they were not confortable with the roles. Considering there weakness they were given far too much screen time.
Anne Hathaway was great thought through and executed. Samantha Barks was very good which i expected since she has filled the role of epoinne quite a few times on the stage.
The Barackage was pathetic and looked like a gust of wind might blow the whole thing away. Even the construction scene was poor.
One thing that struck me about the songs throughout the songs were that they seemed really flat and soulless. I don't know if that was Tom Hoopers choice since even Wilkonson was flat. it made all the songs quite boring. The transition some were good others were really really poor. It seemed like that they took the 25th Anniversary version (with the changed lyrics and extra song or two) and made it so much worse that. Such a terrible disappointment seeing this film. IF YOU WANT to see Les Mis go and see it at the Theatre.
Sense & Sensibility (2008)
I was expecting a lot but felt left wanting more
First of all Andrew Davies is great script writer and has proved many times. He made a great job out adaptations Emma (2009), of course Pride and prejudice (1995), Bleak House (2005). The BBC has a very high standard for their dramas. The director made a good job of what he was given. The locations that were used in sense and sensibility are perfect not only showing off the beauty of English country side but found the houses to suit the description from the book. The characters were brought to live life by their actors. Elinor and Marieanne were casted perfectly in roles. Willoughby and Colonel Brandon was played very well. Overall the actors made the best job they could. But the problems started for me in the writing stage. It was only written in three parts. This just made whole three part series feel like one big summary and very rushed. I think it would have been better to have 4 or 5 episodes. This in turn would allow the characters to develop more and show more of the book. Overall I prefer this Sense and Sensibility to Emma Thompson one. On the other hand after watching this for the first time made me interested to read the book so I did. I would still recommend this series but if you read the book it will leave you wanting more.

What a film!
Advent children is about the events two years after the end of final fantasy 7. This film has just be released in English, and i was very excite to finally get to watch it after having to wait years for this to come out. The film is really great, the animation is the best, as final fantasy players expect. I found everything in this film to be so detail and percised, and even looking at the many different camera angles. The music is a lot of the classic music from the game, however there is a lot of new music in it and really fits with the film, just have a look at the trailers if you want an example. Although i am a final fantasy fan and have played VII,VIII,X,X-2. It does help if you look at the story digest because it will probably be confusing otherwise. But is hard to summarise 60 hours of story line. This animation really gets to the routes of final fantasy 7 and explores it in a beautiful way. I found this a great experience loving every second. One has to be impressed about the detail. I am very very glad this is NOT like Spirts within. This is thousands of times better. There are some great battle scenes to watch in this and quite amazing how the transfered the final fantasy world to a DVD. If you have not played the game just read the story digest or play final fantasy 7(then watch the film, many many hours later). The voice acting i felt was really good and i really can't find much at fault with this film. I am never going to look back after buying the DVD.
