AmeriQua (2013)
Good movie, until...
The ending of the movie. I probably would have given this movie a 7-star rating if they had just ended it when Valentina arrived in NYC, but they didn't.
I still thought it was a decent movie. It's not even close to my top 10 of worst movies I've ever seen. That being said, it isn't even close to my top 10 best movies I've ever seen either. I thought the acting was fine, the leads were good (Bobby Kennedy III was good as Charlie, Aleessandra Mastranardi was very good as Valentina). The only character that I don't believe added anything to the story, basically eye-candy, was Vicky (Eva Amurri), and if they were going for an eye-candy character, I would have rather seen the girl from the American embassy, Jenny (Jeanene Fox), more. The movie would have been just as good, or bad, without Eva Amurri's character.
Open Water (2003)
Bad Movie
I was not expecting a lot from Open Water as I knew it was a low budget film, but hearing some of the reviews from radio personalities I expected more from this film.
Characterization was bad, you never learn really what they do, what their relationship is (are they married or just dating?).
I actually thought Picture work was really good. But, where picture work was good, sound work was really bad.
I was disappointed greatly that they made the characters seem very stupid in the movie. At what point in Education do you learn not to drink salt water? Why might you become nauseous while just drifting, bobbing up and down in the water? Do you not think they would take inventory when they got back? Or at least make sure that stuff they rented out was returned?
I really believe Open Water was the worst movie I have ever seen. I thought throughout the movie that they really insult the intelligence of the viewers. I'm glad I waited to rent it and did not spend the money to see it in the theaters.
