Search for the Afghan Girl (2003 TV Movie)
And how would that happen? :)

I haven't seen the movie yet, only planning to. But - how on earth would she KNOW being THERE that she is famous in US because of that photo??? You expect her in this situation read National Geographic or American newspapers?? :) I seriously doubt she would ever learn about all this if such a trip didn't happen. I think her daughters surely have a chance to become educated, but I think we should forget this great idea of giving some money to them from what was "made on her" :)) It never works that way, unfortunately!! I'd love to see that happen though as well!!

I'm always very sad to see such stories since I come from Russia, even though I know I'm personally not responsible for that mess and bloodshed, but it's just in my mind every time. Just like reading Husseini's "Kite Runner", you live through all this once again...

makes no sense...

It's just ridiculous - to make such a melodrama out of 1 of the bloodiest in our history conqueror's life! It's like a Bollywood story here. It should've been named some other name instead of it, something like "life and love", that area. When people say Chingiz Khan - they are NOT thinking of someone who is this kind, slow, generous, it's like making a sheep out of a lion. As a life/love story of "some warrior" - it's good, I liked it. But as a portrait of a life of this Great Khan who made 2/3 of the continent die - no way, not even close! This movie was supposed to be made for Hollywood - and it clearly was.

I did not see enough anger, power and I don't feel any fear watching the main character. I'm laughing looking at how he runs away from the cage, the way he talks to his wife, the way he talks to his servants, etc... I understand the idea - what was supposed to be seen in those eyes, but I didn't see it... He is just so kind and quiet...

It's a nice surprise to see Dashi Namdakov here as a Production Designer. I love his art as a sculptor, he is just great!! I saw his exhibit in NY! I see a very international team working on this movie, and I did like it, but NOT as a story of this bloodiest man that so many people hated!!
