Mike Judge delivers more gold
30 September 2022
Don't be fooled by your first impression of B&B. Behind the exterior of two extremely dumb teenagers making dumb jokes, is an intelligent sense of humor and strong wit thanks to Mike Judge's talent.

Very few comedy amuse me. It's not actually a genre I like that much due to the lack of quality I personally perceive there to be in the industry. I don't laugh often.

However the first episode alone of this new season had me genuinely laughing plenty of times. Not to mention Mike Judge's hilarious commentary on modern pop culture like YouTube videos and music videos. Very politically incorrect and very witty.

B&B is a classic - and many of the jokes are actually very original and relevant. There are plenty of stupid jokes too - so the broad range of guys are happy.

I'm 24 years old and still love this cartoon. That should say it all. One of the best cartoons to date. Buries Simpsons, Family Guy and Southpark. In its own realm.

As they say, don't judge a book by its cover.

Hell (2010)

Live wealthy & die young

A decent film with a powerful message about the link between poverty and crime. Many men get involved with such brutal gangs out of desperation to make a better living. Sometimes they have no other option.

This movie provides a look into what desperation can turn people into. It also details the vicious, endless cycle of crime and corruption.

Not the most amazing film - but definitely one with a sad but true message about the drug war.

The Evil Within (2014 Video Game)

Unplayable on PS4!

The actual game is very fun. I loved the story and the game mechanics are decent enough.

However there were so many demoralising glitches in the game that I gave this game up at chapter 11. I encountered one particular glitch that would've meant restarting the entire chapter which I had spent ages on just to fix it.

I was fed up with some of the previous glitches I had experienced at this point and decided that I would stop playing this game.

If this game got patched up - I would've completed it and probably rated it around a 7/10.

However there were no updates available to me. Do not buy this game for PlayStation 4 Pro! Looks like other people didn't have problems - so maybe try on a different console.

Just absolutely disturbing
3 July 2021
I'm a big fan of horror flicks. Most particularly; I'm a big fan of slasher films. I class slasher films into the two categories: fun slashers and disturbing slashers. A fun slasher is one whereby you almost root for the killer as the victims in the film are so vapid and 2-dimensional (think friday the 13th, nightmare on elm street).

Then there are other slasher films like Poughkeepsie Tapes that are not a fun time at all, but only extremely disturbing.

I found the acting to be fantastic, and I felt for the victims. The best part of the film is probably the last third - and the performance from Stacy Chbosky (Cheryl Dempsey) is particularly powerful and saddening.

This is the kind of film that doesn't leave your mind after watching it. You may find yourself thinking about the disturbing nature of some people.

This film gives you a glimpse into the macabre nature of a serial killer. Unlike many other films - where the serial killer is almost glamorised. This film is gritty and it is realistic.

I rate harshly - so I award it a 7/10. For me, it is a good film, and definitely above average. But I would not consider it a masterpiece.
