The Batman (2022)
Nothing but Yawn fest
Gave 5 star rating only for the amazing trailer and for few amazing frames in the movie.
Set design and VFX was also nicely done. Rest everything felt too dull and boring.
This batman was unnecessary. Period.
No One Gets Out Alive (2021)
Awful Abysmal Annoying
What the hell did they plan on making. No idea. Netflix should just remove this garbage from their server. The whole premise of the movie is uninteresting to the core. No real characters to even call this a movie. Everything looked cheap. Only thing slightly plus in this was the acting part. But that too we wont bother due to the shitty story. Its like a real torture to sit through this till the end. Creature or whatever they wanna call it was abnoxious to watch. Whoever came with that idea should isolate from rest of the humanity for their own good. If you cant think of a better story why bother to do a movie in the first place. Cannot rant more on this crap and waste my time.
Stay away from this at all cost!!
Free Guy (2021)
A cute movie with an Awesome concsequelept
What a beautiful idea!!How are they coming up with such creative cool stories. Loved everything about this. Wish this gets more sequels. Total entertainment👍🏻👌❤
Midnight Mass (2021)
Its should have been titled "Monolgue Marathon"on"
Everytime when there are very high rating for certain series/movies I wondered why. But for this one its perfectly clear that 90% of people who are awestruck by this series got to be very religious. Otherwise its hard to sit through each and every episode hearing characters speaking monolgue after monolgue. It was certainly a deliberate attempt by the makers to fill in the episodes. Its unbearable after some point expecting something and getting the same boring screenplay.
Acting was okay but some actors felt too puppet like with their flat expressions. Dialogue at times felt too deliberate and pointless. The premise was believable and well suited for the story. Vfx was pretty cool. Don't have much good to say for this one anyways...
You shall miss this Midnight Mass 🙏
The Mauritanian (2021)
A wonderful cinema which needs to be seen and told to the world
More than a movie this is the life of an man who is trapped and tortured for 16yrs only for the satisfaction of some sick rich powerful evils in the government of the so called Greatest country in the world. This movie open up the brutality and injustice of the U. S law system that only believes in labelling everything a threat without any proper evidence. Tahar Rahim is undoubtedly a class actor who deserves every accolade for his performance as our helpless innocent protagonist. This man can easily transform into any character whether it be the mastermind criminal Charles or a normal innocent man Mohamedou. A totally worthy performance was made by the awesome actor Jodie Foster. She is just mind blowing with her subtle expressions and powerful dialogues. Everyone other actors did well too. Altogether 'The Mauritanian was Marvelous'
Kala (2021)
A very hardcore violent ordeal without any real substance
Kala movie is a unique one which we have never seen in any Indian movies. The amount of intensity in the action sequences are pretty sick and raw to the core.
The movie kept building an eerie suspense feel from the beginning towards the end. The direction is truly commendable and also the cinematography in few shots. Although this is a very good attempt the main subject of the movie is not at all believable.
I don't know what went into the minds of the writers when they conceived this idea. Kala movie team wanted to make it ultra realistic which was pretty evident in the first half fight sequences but at the movie proceeded it lost all logics. Tovino's character is stabbed in the chest with an axe, his legs are twisted and bones broken, stabbed again all over the body with a sharp wood but still he manages to stand up easily or cover long distances and even kicks his opponent.
Tovino's opponent is a young guy who is thrashed many times, takes few blows to his head with a showel, is hanged on a rope but still he can flies and shows superhuman strength. Few scenes he had this zombie like expression with blood dripping from his mouth and whole face covered in blood. Movie makers forgot the fact that they are trying to make a real raw movie with humans in it.
Performances of both the lead characters were wonderful. Kala is unncessary gory mess without a purpose.
The Priest (2021)
Malayalam Industry still struggles with Horror
"The Priest" movie though it hyped a a lot being a horror genre falls way too short of becoming one. Most of the people who watched it in theatres were of the opinion that it was meant to be seen in a theatre ambience. Though I agree with them to some extend but what is the point of all that if the movie itself was lacking the most important thing required for any horror movie; scare. I did not find anything scary at all in the whole movie. Felt like this was a PG 13 horror movie. The first half felt quite interesting but as the movie progressed it was pretty visible that the story was loose and dragging. Writers should have focused on making interesting scary scenarios rather than just copying few hollywood movies. The exorcism part was a total joke. All that technology felt to be forced upon the movie which was pretty much lame. Why do they take so much trouble to make such graphics when it doesn't even enhance the quality of a weak script. I really laughed when the possessed girl was struggling to walk on the wall (maybe due to all that wires/ropes tied to her).
I think if you want to make audience excited and thrilled its better not over confuse by inserting too many inside stories. As the script was not captivating at all maybe they thought of making it interesting by twisting the already weak script.
The good thing about the movie has to be the BGM and also the performances. Not over the top or anything but still everyone did their part well.
Hope we can make more legit scary movies rather than such over hyped below average ones.
The Porter: The Untold Story at Everest (2020)
Documentary about the hidden Superheroes
After watching this documentary we get a clear picture about the life of a Porter on the highest mountain in the world. I was really impressed by the dedication shown by Nathaniel to learn the Nepalese language perfectly and interacting with the locals throughout the whole film. The mood of this whole film was very motivating and also eye opening. Life is tough not for the wealthy but for such human beings who work so hard only to survive. Respect!
Escape from Pretoria (2020)
A thriller movie of another class with heart pounding moments throughout.
Never ever thought that a movie can make me so anxious and excited that I had to come up here to write something.
Escape from Pretoria movie is such a well made film. Though we have seen many prison escape films in the past there was an instant connect with the main characters from the start. Daniel Radcliffe was really believable in his character and he delivered an awesome performance. Both the other actors along with him did their part so well. The important aspect about the movie had to be the whole escape planning process which kept me on the edge. Guards are shown as some scary monster kind people which added the scare element to another extend.
Towards the ending I felt the same emotion as those of the characters which is the best thing a movie can offer.
This is a gem of a movie which everyone should check out .
Unhinged (2020)
Unhinged logics
Russell is the only reason I wanted to check this one out. Oh boy he was pure evil with his expressions and physical presence. The movie is a zero logic adrenaline rush which worked in a few parts. But as the story progress it turns out that the director forgot about the real world and created his own world where a psycho can do whatever he wants without even bothering about any consequences that too in the broad daylight. Usually we see the cops in every movie arriving at the crime scene in a couple of minutes. Here we see Russell's character driving like a maniac smashing cars breaking every traffic signals, killing people and yet not even a single cop bothers to chase him down. Where was the freaking Helicopter which we see in almost every movie like this. Maybe nobody cared much!! The acting of lead actress was miserable to be honest.. In many intense scenes her acting and expressions felt totally flat.
Cant rant more about this movie coz it doesn't deserve any more of an attention.
Kill the logics and forget you had a brain and that's Unhinged for you.
Kilometers and Kilometers (2020)
Kilometers & Kilometers away from being a good movie!
This movie was filled with ton of cliches & exhausting moments. I don't understand why people give such high ratings . Is it because they love bullet! No idea.
The movie began okay with some fun elements but there was something out of place throughout the dialogues and screenplay. They tried to do a road movie but ended up being something we have seen bits and parts in a lot of other movies.
"A malayalee talking to a foreigner in broken english" I am not sure if this is still a joke thing after so many years. Also in some parts of the movie Tovino's character was so stupid to understand what are 'mountains or temples' but towards the middle of the ride he speaks naturally without any hesitation or confusion. Probably the wind effect or something....
His close friends whom we see in the beginning of the movie are completely forgotten towards the end. I'm not sure if this was re-edited by the TV channel.
The most terrible scene has to be that part where Tovino shouts at Cathy when their things get stolen. Oh Man that dialogues were just pathetic .Tovino's expressions looked forced. I don't want to add anything more to that.
The girl who played Cathy was really good.....Always enjoy the acting of Basil. All the cast did their part well.
Kms & Kms with less logic is hard to digest.
Joker (2019)
A Villain that outshines any superhero ever born.
This is not a mere movie but a psychological study of human behavior. I never ever felt the emotional scenes in big movie but this masterpiece got me. This guy Mr. Joaquin is not even acting but entirely living in each frame. Every scene connects so well that as a viewer we are unable to detach and believe that its just a movie. I don't even know if any movie or character had such an impact on us as Joker did.
Though he wants the whole "World" to call him a Joker its actually the other way around.
'JOKER GROWS ON YOU'
Fighting with My Family (2019)
Truly heartwarming and emotional movie
As a wrestling fan I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this movie. The emotional attachment between the characters felt so real and also the performances of everyone was so good. I already loved Paige and now after watching this I really wish to see her comeback to WWE.
Hanuman vs. Mahiravana (2018)
Beautiful animation, Beautiful visuals & wonderful music.
So happy after watching this great movie and feeling proud about Indian animation industry. The visuals were all so stunning and the details were magnificent. I really wish this team makes more animated movies about the unexplored great Indian mythologies with the amazing magic of CGI & VFX .
All Light Will End (2018)
