Old fan and New fan welcome back or just welcome to Star Wars
18 December 2015
Just out of the Theater, just watched the New Star Wars, the force awakens. This is the fastest 136 min I have passed in a long time if it makes sense... When the credit rolled out, I thought: Oh, what the... Oh Nooooo. Yep just like that, the movie was great, a new hope revisited somehow with lots of twist but this time an end that implies another episode or more 'a la' Lords of the ring way ... The movies answered lots of question but brings lots more, darn. I will not spoil the movie by telling you what happened. Just go watch it, if you are a fan of star wars and have knowledge of the first trilogy (you will need it), go watch it, if you are new to star wars... you are so gonna be hooked. New Heroes, Old heroes all lovable and doing credit to this fantastic franchise. CGI are awesome especially combat scene, but what was the best part of it? The awaken... The awaken of what? Well, you'll have to see it to answer this question. What I am sure about, it's the awaken of a new trilogy, mark my word.

A fantastic movie
18 July 2014
I saw this movie with no real idea what I will discover. It presents the struggle of the aboriginal communities and what they face every day. Turned in South Australia mainly it is supposed to represent the Northern territory at its worst in a way... Humidity, Rain, Harsh sunny day and so on. Oh well except that part the film itself is a great drama about two culture in contradiction and the struggle that goes with as a result. It has some sense of humor (some wink to crocodile Dundee too) but also some hidden message if you can analyze each scene presented to you. Charlies's country will make you laugh, cry (my girlfriend did), revolt you sometimes. It will certainly not let you out of emotions. For some it might be a bit slow to start, but hang on to your seat it is just the way it is supposed to be and if you make it to the end you will end up with lots of material to debate with. A real marvel, a true jewel of simplicity. I really enjoyed this movie and cannot recommend this one enough. If you are Australian or living in Australia go watch this movie. For the rest of the world it might be another story but as a story it still a great one.

A refreshing experience, a beautiful comedy
2 June 2013
I am french, and I love my French movies. This one is a little bit special and will bring to you so many way to see it. It could be seen as a comedy of life and in that respect every actors plays a typical type of character and does not move from it but at the end except the main character. It could be seen as just a comedy and you will laugh at the dialog. It could be seen as a reflective movie about ourselves... which character represents the best of us. It could be seen as an interesting point of introduction to the baroque culture... It could be seen as simply as a story... and what a beautiful story. There is no murder, neither sex scene as such or violence in this movie except may be some verbal fight between daughter and father, or two brothers. It does not represents anybody in particular but sure one of the character will represent you. As the title says in french: "Tous les Soleils", one sun is yours. Which one will you be. The story take place in France in modern days, and follows a professor struggling in life with his daughter and brother. That is all I will say about the story line, anything else will be spoiling this wonderful movie. I know some french will says: "this is no French movie" and will pin point so many fault in it and eventually destroy it, but this movie is not made to make you think, or may be will make you think later... way later. Like a good wine it takes time to mature and by re watching it I just appreciate it more and this is what I am writing this review. If you do accept this movies as is you will love it, if you starts to watch it to see any errors it may contains avoid it. Most of all if you want to enjoy a fresh comedy that will bring you a bit of fresh air in the world of "you must think French (not)" to watch the movie go watch this movie. I loved it, every single bit of it... Nothing to compare with some other movies like "Amour" but so much to it it will open many discussion and debate about life viewed with child eyes... child eyes of the realisator : Claudel.

A great movie
18 May 2013
Just back from the movie and enjoyed the last Star Trek... Better to know your classics Star Trek Movies for this one if you want to appreciate it at its best, lots lots lots of references to previous movies and lots of explanation/question answered coming to these old movies. Yep, if you are a Fan of the franchise... be bold and go where no one has gone before... nah that does not apply here, just go watch it... It is probably one of the best of the franchise. Acting is good, Special effect are good, action and story line not predictable... well just a little bit. For the non Fan or new to this franchise still a very pleasant moment. 9/10 if you are a fan, 7/10 if you are not a Fan or new to Star Trek. That is my rating for this movie. Oh BTW, without spoiling anything the Klingon are different here... the look... but it's for the best.

This is the kind of movie you got to watch relax and mind free if you are a fan, I did not make the mistake to watch in 3D, it would have distract me too much I guess as a fan and would have miss a lot of these details that has made me a fan from the franchise. I would probably go watch it a second time soon and now may be in 3D. Be aware thought it is a very fast pace movie with lots of action and if you are a Fan you'd better to watch in 2D first then 3D to blow your mind again and again. I won't spoil the movie but this movie from start to end captured my imagination and they bring these little new stuff (said stuff to not spoil) that make you ponder if they are not recreating the universe of star trek original from scratch... answering the Fan some old question left behind and in the meantime pinning you down your chair to enjoy a great movie and of course bringing more question... even the movie is not like a to be continue one like some franchise (Lord of the ring and the like) it create this feeling to want more. When the credit came I had pass 2 hours of pure bliss thinking it was too short. Oh well, to me it means I can wait the next one, bring it on guy, you did a great job.

For the Fan Only: So where this movie fits with the original, does it betray the original saga? I'd say no, should say NO IT DOES NOT, in fact it adds on on a saga so incomplete and cement a weird but so enjoyable puzzle: the puzzle of a world called Star Trek. Lots of Fan will not like what I just said... just take it that way: what would you like to see: a remake that leave you tasteless or an innovative movie that push the franchise forward and therefor make it more than alive? I love my Star Trek so I choose innovation and the heck with sore purist Fan.
