No romantic tale will ever beat this one.

Whilst in school we studied Romeo and Juliet and i really enjoyed it. We watched both versions of the film and i thought this one by far the best. This version is more into the actually literature following Romeo and Juliet in their tradition surroundings. The two characters actually look their correct age adding more authenticity. Plus Romeo was hot! The only parts annoying were when Juliet was laughing or crying it was just this weird sound that is not natural. Also the stabbing scene could have been more dramatic with blood and stuff- rather than a hole in Juliet's clothes. But i guess it is a really old movie. This version would be one that literature lovers should watch and if you aren't then watch the modern day version.

This film follows Anne Marie's courage to get back on her surf board after a near drowning incident. Her mum ran of and abandoned her with her little sister. Anne Maire struggles to pay the rent and buy food. She lives with her sister and two friends in a small leaky house near the beach. Working as a maid she doesn't earn much and still lives on the dream of becoming a famous surfer. We see Anne Marie train hard for Pike the competition that may make her dreams come true but then a footballer comes on the scene and catches her affections, she is distracted from her training and neglects her friends and sister. But soon she remembers what is important to her and the day comes when she must compete in Pike- the deadliest waves in Hawali. Competing against her is a famous surfer her makes Anne Marie feel inferior. They battle the waves out and the competitors both take a thrashing with Anne Maire's past coming back to hunt her. In the end Anne Marie gets her dream by becoming a member of the Billabong team. i thought this film rocked the waves have such a calming effect and the shots of Hawali are beautiful.

I saw this movie once on ITV2 and loved it so much that i had to buy when i saw it in HMV. The actors and actresses are just perfect for the parts. I think Cinderella could have been played by someone prettier than Drew Barrymore but i guess you can't have it both ways. I liked the sibling rivalry between the two step sisters, it added more humour to the plot and also showed the fact that the stepmother hadn't specifically picked out Danielle's life to ruin. The saddest part of the film was when the prince found out the truth about Danielle- that she was not the Countess he had met but a servant girl. If i were Danielle i would never have taken back that stuck up cow of a prince, that dude needs a serious attitude adjustment. This film is definitely recommended to everyone- so watch it!!!

a bit iffy

OK so i saw this movie a while ago and thought it was quite good but what was with the whole earthquake thing- that was weird and the thing with the fairy tale book near the end. Also if she was so neglected all the time and stuff how come she had a really new mobile phone a computer in her bedroom(!!!) perfectly straightened and coloured hair everyday (her hair colour really doesn't look natural) and her own car. That is so not the correct Cinderella image. And did anyone else care about the whole none existent glass slipper!! that was a great disappointment, the glass slipper is Cinderella's trademark, it's like Red Riding hood without the hood- Buffy with out a stake. It just doesn't happen. And if anyone has seen Charmed the episode "Happily ever after" they will see that the creators managed to make Phoebe loose her glass slipper- so why couldn't Sam loose hers? Though Chad Michael Murray's appearance as Prince Charming did bring the movie up a bit. The film is worth watching because all does end happily ever after.
