1BR (2019)
I didn't want to like it ...
A remarkable look at cult activity, society and human conditioning on several levels. Should give it a look.
Alien Highway (2019)
DEFINITELY Worth Watching
Some people complain just to have something to say. The reviews I've read here are nit picky and irrelevant to the information and quality delivered by this show (might even be some debunkers afraid of these realities being revealed by this show trying to re-direct viewers). I've watched from the beginning. They have 44 minutes in which to report and they do a fine job. If this were a 90 minute program and bugeted like a broadcast network show, I'm sure we'd get more. The public is READY for more. For the sake of transparency I'll tell you I'm a ufologist/paranormologist, and Missouri MUFON Chief Investigator. I'm also a movie-maker (Chupacabras! The Legend Begins) I know Chuck and the team and was with them for one day of the four day shoot in St. Clair, Missouri (where they put Steve under hypnosis). What this program brings you is REAL investigative minds bringing NEW information on historical AND current cases because they go to original witness and sources with the RIGHT QUESTIONS! They go on-location where the events have occurred and, much of the time, capture on camera what witnesses have seen. This show DESERVES to be given enough time for experiencers to find it and support it.
Ghost Stalkers (2014)
Good idea poorly executed
I am what I call a "paranormologist" which means I deal with everything considered "paranormal" .. alienology, cryptozoology, parapsychology, paranormal, ufological, metaphysical. etc. and the commentary at the beginning opening of this show held great promise of an new interesting, approach to such an investigative show, then it immediately devolved to a typical "ghost hunting" format. VERY disappointing.
Vampirella (1996)
DETAILS AHEAD OF THEIR TIME
I'm watching this movie now on YouTube. While most of the time the script is mediocre, some of the detains of space and science are ahead of their time. Their inclusion of what's currently referred to as the SSP (Secret Space Program) of humans exploring Mars (where Vampirella has been marooned) and MORE make me wonder who the writer was connected to, or who Forry Ackerman was connected to to come up with some of the details for the story-line. Interesting ... .
Supergirl (2015)
Stop violating Supergirl's strength
First, know that I LOVE the idea of Supergirl, I love the actors, their chemistry, and their characters but NOT the writing. Outside of a fellow Kryptonian, Supergirl should have no problem with facing her foes. As I understand it, Superman is only vulnerable to kryptonite and magic. Trying to make Supergirl more relatable makes sense through subtle emotions and questioning how to deal with a situation, but NOT physical issues and certainly not fist fighting. Also, STOP grabbing scenes from the Christopher Reeve Superman movies. Instead of referring to the Superman movies for inspiration, I would ask the writers to refer to Adventures of Superman or Smallville. I don't care for the way Kara is written either. Stop the golly gee routine. Doesn't need to be as reckless as with the red K but the idea that she has to act like a bumbling goofball (like Reeve's Clark Kent) is insulting. We could do with a little less "sisterhood" chest pounding as well. They are grown adults working in life and death (at least Alex is) situations. If they were truly that emotional that agency would not have them involved. It makes no sense for completely human, vulnerable Al;ex to be braver and mentally stronger than Kara. When Alex is in danger, Kara should, like her sister (whom she grew up with and observed most of their life) simply focus on a plan to get her out of danger without having to emotionally proclaim "she's my sister!" Unless your show is intended just for little girls, PLEASE grow up.
MonsterQuest: Chupacabra (2008)
Not the right story of the Chupacabras
Filmmaker Joe Palermo (part of the Chupacabras show cast) here. When I participated in this show, I had high hopes that the real story would be presented. This was my first dealing with such a show and such producers. Since this show, I also participated in National Geographic's Paranatural series and Destination America's Monsters and Mysteries in America. In all cases, I gave the producers a copy of my full documentary on the subject made from footage of interviews and on location investigation that I and the late Marc Davenport, and several others of our expedition were privy to during a one week expedition to Puerto Rico in February of 1996. The producers of this Monsterquest show used only that which made their story more entertaining. Sorry, there is NO chupacabras in Texas, Missouri or anyplace else I've seen reports from America (maybe Florida). To see the REAL story, watch my free online documentary Chupacabras! The Legend Begins available on Youtube.
