The Legend of Korra (2012)
Truly outstanding and satisfying series.
Avatar: Legend of Korra was outstanding. I praise it's in depth and complex story, and it's intriguing plot. Every episode had an element of human emotion that really tied each episode together and kept it interesting. From love and romance, to anger, fear, and moral values being put to the test. Unlike it's predecessor Last Airbender,Legend of Korra was faster progressing, and had less moments of comedy and goofiness that were a bit irrelevant to the story arch. It moved towards the climax of the series faster, making it an unfortunately short, but more satisfying show. This series also had a darker, more mature atmosphere. Scenes of death were more blatant, and happened more often, and the concept of peril and failure were more apparent. It was more realistic to how real life conflict and danger is, the main protagonist actually lost quite a few times. The antagonists were also much more sinister and were more ruthless. The character development was a bit more complex and in depth than Last Airbender. As far as comedy, Legend of Korra relied more on subtle pun and wit based humor, and less slapstick and silliness than in last a Airbender. Legend of Korra focused more on other characters emotional development and relationship with each other and the main protagonist as well, making it identify to an older audience who want more complexity in character development. Legend of Korra focused less on the lead character learning how to be an avatar, mostly because of the lead having more experience in the art of bending, and knowing about being the avatar longer. So the series focused much more on keeping the viewers focus on what the outcome of the story will be, basically making you think ahead and less in the moment of the scenes and the lead character. All in all, i enjoyed Legend of Korra so much, and it had me so drawn in, that i didn't want to watch the final episode because i didn't want it to be over. The emotional context and subject matter was capable of making me tear up and break down, far more than in last Airbender as well, so for people who enjoy lots of complex emotional subject matter, this is a treat for you. I say you watch this series now if you haven't, because you will not regret it.
Dredd (2012)
A Thrilling and violent film!!!
This movie was absolutely outstanding. Featuring a Dark and surreal atmosphere, unique and imaginative cinematography, and a great story. This is a big improvement to the 1995 film Judge Dredd. This film is really nothing like the comic, and more of it's own take on the character of Judge Dredd. This film has a more serious and less comical approach to the dystopian world that Judge Dredd takes place in. The violence is just perfectly paced and the dialogue isn't bland or boring. The story comes to a conclusion very well and you never forget what is going on in this movie. A dark, gloomy, and somewhat grizzled personality from the main Character, who is also disciplined and keeps his focus on protecting the public and being the perfect "judge, jury, and executioner" Sorry too the Judge Dredd fanboys, this movie wipes the floor with Judge Dredd, If you prefer the obnoxious and annoying yelling, and awful corny performance of Sylvester Stallone, you be my guest. If you are a fan of action, and thrilling violence and dialogue, go see this film!
Scrubs: My Finale: Part 2 (2009)
Not a single Series finale as good as this one.
This was the most emotional and beautiful series finales in the history of Television. You see and feel and remember how much the characters you first met in the pilot have grown up and how much they went through in their lives to become doctors. The scene where JD is walking through the halls and is imagining every patient and character he had made a relationship with in his time as a doctor at sacred heart is just artistic and poetic. When JD comes to the end of the hallway and we hear the music start, and we can see the reflection of the projection screen he is watching, it just really makes you tear up seeing him react with both sad and happy emotions to what is going to come in the future for his life. The song book of love playing in the background really helps mold the emotional nature of the scene, and we see the empty and quiet parking lot as he finally goes through the doors, giving us a somewhat sad that it's over, but happy feeling for JD at the same time, the janitor outside even bares a striking resemblance to the janitor. No TV show has ever had me this happy, sad, and annoyed in my life and no finale had ever gotten me so emotional. I get teary even thinking about this scene.
Street Dreams (2009)
Fantastic Film, a must for skaters.
Lots of tricks, lots of drama, and lots of swearing!! This film is a perfect movie for skaters and even none skaters alike to enjoy. Great acting by Paul Rodriguez and Ryann Dunn. The jokes that Ryan Dunn cracks are just hilarious and witty. Not a perfect 10/10 score for me, but a lot higher than this site gives it for sure. The story was great and it actually came to a conclusion properly and didn't lose track of itself. I felt angry and sad for Paul Rodriguez's character in quite a few scenes. I did not like Rob Dyrdek's role, i thought it was annoying, and he is not an actor, But a great skateboarder none the less. The acting from the father of Derek (paul Rodriguez) was the best acting in the film. A 8 out of 10 for me, great film, and easily watchable to the end and keeps you engrossed in the story.
Drive (2011)
disappointing.
This film really had me expecting something action packed, dramatic, and intense. Instead it left me feeling dazed, tired ,and bored. This film had No plot, Very anti climactic action and violence scenes, and the dialogue was awkward and uncomfortable. The music was terrible, and it had almost no driving scenes at all. Really over rated, and misleading. I'm not one to judge another opinion, but i can't see how one can find this movie a masterpiece. It was very slow, and the story and characters developed very poorly. All in all, very boring film, and very disappointing. Only good thing about this movie was the very little violence. I wasted an hour and 37 minutes on this boring piece of crap, when i could have watched a good movie.
