Babylicious (2023)
Give this movie a chance!!
Before categorizing something as "Cringe," it's essential to take a moment to delve into the various components that make up a movie.
Acting: Shehroze and Syra effortlessly embodied their characters, convincingly portraying their youth and distinct personalities. Notably, the supporting cast, including Arwa, her mother, and Maani, also delivered excellent and entertaining performances, complementing the leads perfectly.
Direction: The direction of this movie skillfully evoked the essence of a musical, reminding of movies like "Janeman."
Cinematography: The cinematography in this film deserves special mention as it served as the standout element, a visual treat. Every frame added an extra layer of beauty and depth to the storytelling.
Songs: Undoubtedly, the biggest strength of this movie lies in its songs. Beautiful notes added an enchanting dimension to the film
Story: This movie beautifully captures the essence of young summer love, staying true to its thematic core. It effortlessly creates a feel-good atmosphere, embracing the genre it represents. It is important to note that the film does not aim to reinvent the concept of love but rather embraces it with authenticity.
Criticisms surrounding the movie's perceived "toxicity" seem unfounded when compared to the acceptance and appreciation that viewers often give to the toxic and abusive relationships on television. The unlikely hero winning the girl is a classic narrative element, and while not everyone may agree with every aspect of the story, it is crucial to appreciate the craft and effort that went into bringing it to life. By supporting Pakistani cinema, we contribute to its growth and success, ensuring its longevity.
I applaud the director and the entire team behind this movie for their exceptional effort and finesse. It is definitely one of the few good ones coming out of Pakistani cinema.
A Star Is Born (2018)

Made in Heaven (2019)
Addictive
I have to write this review because after even after a week of watching the show, I can't stop obsessing over it.
It was the most relatable show I have ever seen. Characters, feelings, reactions, acting and stories are far too familiar and something we experience in our daily lives. I also think it was brilliant how many grey zones this show has and forces the viewer to understand that everything is not black and white, pure or evil but we all have circumstances that force us to make mistakes even when we are genuinely not bad people.
And honestly whoever did the wardrobe did a splendid job. I wanted to buy everything Tara wore, Lol.
A great binge worthy show (finished the show in mere two days) :D
Otto no chinpo ga hairanai (2019)
New topic, great acting but DAMN it was slow
I stumbled across this one thinking "This is interesting". No doubt, a very interesting concept and a very REAL problem but that's where it ends.
Even though it is shown that the couple really loves each other, they really do nothing to help their situation other than using baby oil or adultery. I mean they lived in a modern era? Did it not come across to may be go to a doctor or a sex therapist?. Other than that, the biggest flaw of this show was the PACE. No one has time to watch your mundane routine on TV and waste hours of their lives. I think I could not bear the pace of this show after episode 4 and actually the fast forwarded through the scenes to figure out what happens. I really don't know what to think of the ending either.
Positive would definitely be the acting. Both actors were very strong and stuck to their characters. Sometimes I felt like shaking the actress to make her feel or say something but I definitely think thats the strength of her acting as she depicted a very timid, submissive woman (BTW I understand she is submissive but they practically showed that she got raped when she meets her first internet sympathizer :/)
Overall I think what initially started as an interesting topic with great actors soon became very tedious and boring and difficult to watch.
Goliath: Tongue Tied (2018)
OK... THIS JUST HAPPENED
I have been a big fan of Goliath but honestly giving one good season does not mean you can fool your audience and sell them patch work of your redundant thoughts
The whole season did not make sense. AT all. Lets start from the beginning
a) What was the role of the white kid?
B) Where was any story development of the suarez family?
C) What kind of lawyer just goes away on the most important weekend of his client's life
d) Does police protection and court granted immunity mean nothing? Is cartel all and mighty?
E) Was anyone supposed to stay alive in this show?
F) How is a teenage girl living alone in that big house while the whole cartel wants to hurt billy?
G) Why are people who are shooting billy not checking if he is really dead?
H) How did gabriel actually distribute drugs?
I) What made billy think he can just go back to same place he was conspired to kill and HOW DID HE MAKE IT BACK ALIVE
AND MY BIGGEST FRUSTRATION, WHAT WAS SHOWN IN THE LAST EPISODE. LIKE REALLY. No acting, no story. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
