Them (2021)
Not entertaining, not enjoyable
Them (2021) should never have been made. It should never have gone passed the writers room. It should never have been filmed. It should never have been released. Theres nothing entertaining, nothing worth watching about the extreme abuse and torture of black people. Nothing.
The Office: Stress Relief (2009)
one of the very best
Probably one of the top ten cold opens of all time
Srpski film (2010)
Shock for the sake of shock and controversy for the sake of controversy
Unlike the films of other controversial directors (Lars Von Trier or Gaspar Noé come to mind) Srdjan Spasojevic's A Serbian Film serves up tragedy and horror with absolutely no reedeeming artistic value or moral lesson. It simply expemplifies and illustrates the horrors human beings can do to each other, and nothing else. Not only is it a career ruiner for Spasojevic, but a day ruiner for anyone who has the misfortune to view it.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Can't imagine a worse ending
This season and this episode specifically undid almost every single ounce of characterization done by this series. By the end it was unrecognizable. I'm glad it ended this way, for I won't ever miss it again.
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
We waited two years...for this
Solid proof that as shows get bigger, they do NOT get better.
Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
The best film in the series
Jason Statham was the best villain in the series, perhaps even one of the best villain of the year. Once you put aside the ridiculousness of the film it is amazing and extremely fun to watch. No, it will not win any Academy Awards. No, it will not go down in the Acting Hall of Fame. But if you've already seen seven of these movies what else do you expect? Yes the scene were (SPOILERS) The Rock flexes and his cast flies off is absurd- and very reminiscent of his wrestlemania days. Yes, the stunts are bigger and better and more ridiculous than ever. Yes, the random cameos (Iggy Azalea, Romda Rousey, etc.) were terrible. But this movie is definitely worth watching.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
This is the film that made me dislike Wes Anderson
It is as though Wes Anderson is in competition with himself to see how many of the same actors he can put in each of his movies. With The Fantastic Mr. Fox and even Moonrise Kingdom is was delightful to see the actors we had once seen and loved in the Royal Tenenbaums. But this film was so ridiculously packed with every single actor who had ever appeared in any Anderson film that is was not only annoying but also greatly distracting from the plot. I feel as though this film is a parody of what his films once were, so full of quirk and color and famous actors that the plot (what weak a plot there was) was completely overshadowed. And to find that this was the one film to win an Oscar was greatly disappointing.
The Astronaut Wives Club (2015)
A delightful surprise
This show was a delightful surprise. I had seen the trailers and assumed it would be just another badly acted, slapped together period drama but I was extremely pleased to find that this show is well acted and refreshing. From the first episode I was hooked and I look forward to the airing of this show every week. The acting is fantastic, the costumes realistic and delightful, the plot is strong and can even be nail-biting at times. Odette Annable and Azure Parsons are a delightful addition to the show and Yvonne Strahovski is perhaps the best, most likable addition to the cast. I am very proud and eager to recommend this show to anyone and everyone.
