Boo, Bitch: Who Dat Bitch? (2022)
OMG
The twist had me shook they snapped. This show is so camp I love it. I did not expect it to be Gia whew I actually got chills. This show is like kinda weird and silly but like it's a fun show to watch you can't deny that. They're silly girls! They all made me laugh they snapped they rly did drop the skin care routine Erika. Lana Condor is like the funniest she's been in this role tbh and the guy who plays Jake C is snapping too and ofc the girl who plays Gia. Erikas switching from personalities is a bit abrasive but I think it also fits with the whole absurdist dark comedy they're going for. This was a good penultimate episode that gave us that overall Act 3 twist in a series.
The American Mall (2008)
HONESTLY SO CAMP
This movie was so camp and iconic I love the characters were all so good I loved when that girl was like PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY and then Nina Dobrev bonked her head. It would be a 10 if they made Ben gay like they should have.
The Morning Show: The Interview (2019)
Best season finale in a while
Oh my god I haven't seen a season finale this intense and packed in a while. This show is incredibly nuanced. It perfectly embodies the shocking yet inevitable type of ending. I absolutely love how they didn't end up interviewing Mitch at the end, but instead having Alex join Bradley in on speaking about Mitch's actions and what Fred allowed to happen. So much amazing acting in the unspoken moments that will be touched on in season two and were hinted at earlier in season one.
Cruel Summer (2021)
Poorly executed
Great idea, but poorly executed. I think the dialogue was unrealistic and the overall show fell short.
Initiation (2020)
Fresh modern take on a slasher
What I really loved about this film is how it was a fresh, realistic take on a horror film while also having a social satire element to it. A lot of horror films gloss over the emotional reaction to someone close to another character dying. In this movie, however, they took the time to show Ellery's emotional response to her brother dying. I also love how all of the victim were men in an unexpected way. I was afraid for my good sis Shayleen the whole movie but it was refreshing to see a slasher movie where all the women survived, especially when that expectation wasn't a given from the beginning. The reveal of the killer had me shook too. It starts off a little slow and heavy on the exposition, but I'm not complaining cuz Froy is gorgeous and I knew he was getting first boot. Speaking of Froy, I think acting wise this was his best role so far. The movie was lacking a little in the horror/scary/suspense department as well, but overall it was a great watch!
Dare Me (2019)
Literally my favorite show in existence
Something about this shows writing, pacing, acting, and cinematography is so unique and captivating. It keeps you hooked from beginning to end of each episode. I'm usually one to get distracted easily by my phone by watching shows, but this is one of those rare occasions where my eyes are glued to the screen from start to finish of every episode. It is a phenomenal slow burn suspense show and it deserves a second season. The writing is so one of a kind that you won't be able to find another show quite like this one ever. Absolutely amazing.
