Woods (2016)
Fun lost in the woods horror
Stereotypical opening of a car driving to the woods. Stereotypical in horror I actually like, as you know what you are going to get. For a short, low budget horror "Woods" doesn't disappoint.
Acting is decent, script is decent, required firepit and spooky story scene. We see flashbacks of the ghost story where Lisa Jay Jenkins, playing the character Scarlet, also appears as the ghost character, Catherine. Marko Bennachimo as the charming Ray, also as a ghost character who tortured Catherine in the past.
It's a decently paced film, well performed and written. I feel it could have been extended into a feature length.
Pet Graveyard (2019)
Not even an ugly cat can save this film.
So somebody was making a film that rips off Flatliners and their mate says "hey I have a creepy looking cat". So filmmaker says "great I'll write it into the film and we can stick it on the poster so will people will mistakenly buy it thinking it's Pet Semetary". Can't comment on much more as I zoned out several times while watching then got up to put the washing on the line.
