As a guy pseudo interested... I was EXTREMELY disappointed.
2 July 2010
I actually liked the 2nd one. I dunno maybe cuz it had motorcycles and werewolves.

My girlfriend loved the books and even forced me to read them. I have to say they were... READABLE. and the movies I actually liked.

Until this one. I was actually hoping it would be cool and that I would like it more then part 2...

However, this was the most boring, clichéd... actually nooo... NOT cliché at all.. Just boring...

Maybe I expect my vampires to be a bit more bad ass. But wtf

Lets just clothesline each other at 100 mph until someone goes down...

The battles epicly failed... the love story was completely downplayed....

and the overall plot was just... not there.

Very very boring.

Absolutely dreadful
10 May 2009
I really wanted to like this movie. Felt like a great take on the Broken American Dream. Instead however, I felt like killing myself at the end. Sure these people both felt stuck but seriously... Maybe I am just a stronger person. I have been there and was able to pull myself out of a rut and am better for it. However, these 2... I don't know it just seemed terribly depressing and wrong. There were so many ways they could have fixed their situation. But it is hard to feel sorry for them. They had a wonderful house, wonderful family, and sure they may have been a bit hindered by the children. But my God. I really wish they would have been poor, uneducated, and maybe even some type of refugees. Then I could have perhaps seen a bit of reason to feel sorry. Towards the middle I was hoping they would shoot each other. Terrible movie. I hope the book was better. Don't get me wrong. I don't need the happy ending to a movie. I actually like the spin when there is a bad ending. But in the end it was just a bad movie ending worse.

Star Trek (2009)

Outstanding and fresh NEW ALTERNATE reality.
10 May 2009
I think too many people are passing judgment on this movie BEFORE actually SEEING it. This is NOT CANON and it does NOT try to be. It is obvious from the FIRST battle that it is an ALTERNATE REALITY story. Too many people are mad about it not being just a remake. Well I'm glad for that fact. Similar to Dark Knight or even X-Men. The whole 60s sci fi story doesn't translate completely to today. That being said... I LOVE the original series. I have watched Star Trek all my life. However, this movie was definitely a wonderful restart to that great franchise. As I said it doesn't even attempt to be CANON. It's an alternate reality from the beginning.

It is an awesome take on a what if scenario. Even though the core elements are still there. the main cast is there if thrown together. But that's part of what makes it great. In TOS they took years to develop the relationship they had. In this movie they were thrown into it and maximized their potential immediately which I actually liked. They didn't have time to grow they were given a life or death situation and found that despite knowing each other as in TOS that they were just destined to be a team.

I won't go into spoilers or anything but the action, writing, and lore just seemed to fit nicely for this reincarnation.

If I have one complaint its simply that the villain could have had more time or the movie longer to get a better sense of motivation for them. It was a great movie and I hope there will be more movies. Even say a trilogy to FIX the time line... That would be amazing so then it could even be canon.

I see so many complaints about that. But if you are a real fan of the whole series you would know that there have been tons of alternate reality stories within the series itself. So this should not be such a surprise nor a fault.

Wow... This was really COOL LOOKING. But it was a huge disappointment in all other aspects...
22 July 2008
GDT's vision, execution, and production value are AMAZING. The special effects, the costumes, the larger then life Elemental Forest God... all beautiful...

The movie was horrible, the plot line was campy, the blue guy pointing at the MAIN villain like a little kid "HE LIED TO US!" were all just horrible, then the drunk SINGING scene,,, and to end the movie with that same song.

My GF LOVED Hellboy 1, I thought it was pretty cool and expected this one to be amazing... It was horrible...

This movie was a beautiful monster, I'd watch it on mute just to see the action and beauty of the film, but the story and dialog were horrible.

WoW much better then the first. Deserves a sequel.
23 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I was really surprised. This is how the first one should have been done. Without all the pithy and stupid dialog of the first and slapstick comedy, this title was dark, ominous, and for all accounts REALLY GOOD. Damodar returns 100 years later from hell and is much more of a badass then the purple lipsticked fairy of the first movie.

It lends itself to a sequel at the end. I wont spoil anything and this isn't much of a summary. But suffice to say if you like RPG's and fantasy movies. This is definitely not one to miss.

The first being a 1 I give this a 10 on sheer improvement.

Fun movie and great special effects.

A bit too short. Could have used a bit more action. But all in all great addition to the DND franchise

Doom (2005)
10/10
I thought this movie was great despite Storyline Changes.
24 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was awesome. I like the final fight scene even if it wasn't what was expected of DOOM. But it was still an awesome movie. I foresee a franchise since we never really get to see if everything is OK at the end :P But the storyline changes didn't take away from the overall experience of DOOM. I thought the movie was awesome.

And that 5 minute FPS scene kick ass!

If you haven't seen or played any of the DOOM video games then expect a mix of Resident Evil meets Aliens for this movie. It does a great job at being a fast paced Sci-Fi action movie even without the video game background.

I would recommend this movie to any action/scifi movie buff. Good Stuff!

Joe Dirt (2001)

People who hate this movie Love the English Patient :P
30 December 2004
I just had to say that, because I just left a comment for the English Patient :D Well I really don't understand why people are so critical of these types of movies. They are not meant to be taken seriously, nor literally. It's a comedy about Joe Dirt. The fact that it pokes fun at the whole "white trash" stereotype is what makes it funny. I mean that is what it is supposed to do. Come on even Kid Rock was in there, he may fit the "white trash" stereotype, but I don't think anyone would complain about his lifestyle. I thought this movie was hilarious, and even under the comedy is a bit of good IL' family/life values. This is one of those movies that you can watch over and over and still get a kick out of it. Life's a garden Dig It! Don't take COMEDY so seriously.

Wow, I mean WOW! No wait..
29 December 2004
WOW!!! That was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Even my fianceé thought it was terrible. Cumulatively, we have both cursed the movie for wasting 300 minutes of our life together. I would rather go back to Marine Corps Combat Training then watch a movie like that again. I mean seriously, how can a sex scene be so boring? If this movie accomplished anything it was 50% mass hysteria (guys were crying in the movie and my girl was like "WTF"). On the other hand the rest of us will appreciate every other movie from now on. I have seen some bad movies and felt cheated out of 2 hours of my life, but this film made me appreciate how bad they weren't.

Flamers flame on if you must. But instead of just attacking my opinion like you guys usually do, how about telling others why you liked it. Instead of "All the people who don't like this movie are stupid and dumb." As I have seen in other posts. LOL

Pleasantly Surprised. Indiana Jones/Mummy-ish
5 December 2004
I was hoping this was going to be a TV series. I thought that's what it was, especially since I saw it scheduled 3 times in the same night. But it turned out to be a movie. I found it a bit quirky, but likable nonetheless. I really enjoyed it. It could have used a bit more substance (filling in the plot holes would have been nice), but it was still good. Much better then some of the crap that has been in theaters recently. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes the Indiana Jones or Mummy series. Also if you liked Tomb Raider you will probably like this, since I think Kelly Hu adds a lot for the hot chick slot. The librarian is a likable nerd and is played very well by Noah Wyle best known for his role in ER. All in all a good movie which as it turns out I liked a lot.
