American Horror Story: The Future Perfect (2021)
I don't know what is happening
This season makes zero sense once you get to the finale of the first part and has no purpose to me past that. Everything is super rushed (especially Part 1 finale and the entirety of part 2), the acting still isn't great in Part 2 and none of the characters are likeable in part 2. Hoping future seasons are better because these least few seasons haven't been great.
It sucks because in my opinion the episodes before the finale of Part 1 were some of the best ahs I've seen in years. Really stupid how quickly it went downhill.
American Horror Story: Inside (2021)
Wow. An improvement.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't amazing by any means. But I think this episode was better than the last in terms of story. The acting could still use a little work from the young actors but I really like what they are setting up.
Midnight Mass (2021)
He's done it again
I've loved Flanagan's work especially The Haunting of Hill House. This new show is definitely another great work of his. One thing I love about him as a writer is that his horror isn't meaningless, there's structure to it. There's purpose to it. This show is no exception to that.
Midnight Mass is much more than horror, it's another masterpiece by a genius.
American Horror Story: Take Me to Your Leader (2021)
They had us in the first half ngl
Please Ryan do not let this show become like American Horror Stories, trust me no one wants that.
This isn't anything special. The first half is okay I guess but the second half is just god awful. They need to get better script writers.
American Horror Story: Winter Kills (2021)
Disappointing
The first 5 episodes of this season were some of the best ahs we've gotten in years in my opinion. This finale just completely ruined it. Save yourself and don't watch it. Make up your own ending instead.
On a positive note the girl that plays Alma is such a good actress.
American Horror Stories: Game Over (2021)
What is Ryan On
I know this show is a spin-off but holy shit. Are they connecting it to the original show or not? They need to make up their minds.
This episode breaks the fourth wall. I don't mind things breaking the fourth wall in comic book movies (if it works and it only really works in Deadpool) but this is a HORROR show. It's supposed to be anyway. So what is the reason for treating it like it's in a separate universe when the first two episodes acted differently? What's the reason for breaking the fourth wall in the first place? Makes no sense.
The problem is Ryan doesn't understand what works and what doesn't lately. And this show just isn't working. Part of what makes the original show so great is that they are given an entire season to expand characters and build a cool atmosphere. Beginning to think Ryan can't do that with a show like this.
I don't know, it's just really disappointing and annoying because I feel like they are shouting themselves in the foot messing with a storyline that doesn't need to be messed with. Leave Murder House alone.
I'm so frustrated that this is getting another season. Complete waste of potential.
Shazam! (2019)
The only good DCEU movie
This movie is surprisingly enjoyable. The characters are likeable, the plot is good and I think the pacing is pretty decent. It's not a masterpiece by any means but it's watchable, which is pretty rare for a dceu movie. Also, the acting is good. Especially from the young actors.
Fear Street: 1666 (2021)
An awesome finale.
I don't know if the major plot twist was super obvious and I'm stupid or if it was actually genius, but either way I loved it. This was a really well made finale. The acting was pretty good and everything I liked about the previous movies they kept and made better. A solid ending to a decent trilogy. Had a good time with this and I hope everyone else did too. They actually managed to make me tear up, god forbid.
Cruella (2021)
Enjoyable
Emma Stone stole the show and I think it wouldn't have been as good if someone else played Cruella. I had a good time watching it and I was shocked that it was pretty enjoyable.
Black Widow (2021)
Meh
I didn't expect anything walking into this movie and I'm really happy I didn't hype myself up for it.
I think the biggest problem is that this is a movie that should have come out BEFORE Endgame. We already know what happens to Natasha and really the only reasons this movie exists is 1) fan service/a tribute to Natasha. And 2) to set up Yelena as the next Black Widow (if they even do that).
The acting was fine, the characters were meh (Yelena stole the show in my opinion, best character). But I think this movie wasn't necessary and brought nothing to the table.
I don't even think this is a good send off movie for Nat? It left me just feeling empty. And I don't remember 90 percent of what Nat does in the film, and it's supposed to be a movie about HER.
I don't like what they did with Taskmasker or that they made Nat and Yelena adopted sisters/sister figures (in the comics, they aren't related at all and don't see each other that way).
But hey, that's my opinion. Glad some people got enjoyment.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Better than the first
I think what really made this movie pop for me was the acting. Good performances all around.
I also like that it focused less on the supernatural aspects of the storyline and more on the kills. Reminded me a bit of Friday the 13th in that aspect?
I think it was just less boring than the first and more action packed.
Excited for the next movie!
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
It's alright y'all are just mean
I think people are being way too harsh on this movie. It's not perfect by any means and there are a few confusing plot devices in it. But if you take away the things that don't make it good, there are still some great kills and some fun characters.
Also, as a sapphic, the sapphic storyline is surprisingly good. Better than a lot of what Hollywood puts out and claims as "representation." I think I liked the second one more, but I can't deny that Sam and Deena were the best parts of the movie for me.
Boys in the Trees (2016)
A masterpiece in its own right
This is a film that sticks with you, one that shakes the core of your soul. I went into it thinking it was a horror film, and finished it thinking it was something else entirely. This is a movie that will especially shake you if you have ever been bullied, or have experienced discrimination and disrespect because of who you are.
The theme of lgbt discrimination in this movie is subtle, but still there. And as much as this movie is a cry for people to think about their actions, it is also a movie of reflection of childhoods, youth and the friendships that we make throughout our childhoods. How sacred friendship is, and how it can sometimes get lost along the way. But there is hope for it to mend. Sometimes, when we least expect it. And sometimes too late.
This movie deserves all of the praise. It truly is a beautiful film.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
Awful, just awful.
If you wanna know how bad this movie is, just know that I don't normally drink alcohol but I had to in order to get through this.
Insatiable (2018)
Trash
Well, we know why this is a Netflix show. No TV show network in there right mind would air this.
Absolute garbage. Don't waste your time, my friends.
Logan (2017)
Awesome!
Great movie. Really enjoyed it. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Made me cry. Definitely recommend watching it!
Riverdale (2017)
Good at first, then got stupid
I actually liked Season 1 alot but Season 2 is really lame.
Heathers (1988)
Pure Genius
Probably my favorite movie of all time. The characters, the plot, the setting, the dialogue, pure perfection. It's a movie that I can watch over and over again and never get tired of. It's a movie that most teenagers can relate to, due to it perfectly describing how high school really is. High school is hell. And this movie captures it all perfectly, while still making teenagers (and adults) laugh.
Death Note (2017)
Terrible
Terrible acting. Completely whitewashed other than the fact that L is black. Pure Hollywood trash. Completely shits on the original. The anime and original Japanese movie are far, far better. I expected nothing and I'm still let down by this trash. Save yourself, my friends.
