The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann (2019)
An unintentional study of the British self importance
I would like to refrain from calling this miniseries a documentary. I would like to call it a culture piece.
A piece of media that so adequately fails to portray its quite dire subject matter with the respect and professionalism that cases of missing children deserves and instead becomes a nauseating but deeply interesting dive into English culture.
In the style of real anglophilic sensationalism, thoroughly saturated in lack of self reflection and integrity, the imperialistic, middle-class-entitlement concludes in no resolution to the disappearance and probable murder of a little girl.
This piece is an analyst's wet dream and if you're interested in being confronted with the absolute incompetence of a culture that holds the west in an iron fist please feel free to watch this horrendous masterpiece.
It's a good thing the UK left the EU.
Devil in Ohio (2022)
How my soul hurts
If you were the child whose father was evil or if you were the child abandoned by your mother, would anything ever be normal?
If you were a child whose abuse wasn't lethal, looking to adults as saviours, would you ever be saved?
Trauma eats at your soul, at your mind and at your body and it occupies you for the rest of your life.
You can heal, you can move and you can try to forget but never does it leave you to act as these so called traumatised individuals.
The topics are so heavy and so blatantly forgotten in the holy name of the plot. This show preys on the unfathomable evil of mothers sacrificing their children.
The only cult in this show is the religion of profit.
Trainwreck: Woodstock '99 (2022)
Terrifying generational cleft
Seeing everyone not taking responsibility for consequences of their own creations - the sociological, racist and misogynist cultures that let to the atrocity of Woodstock '99.
The documentary focuses on the monetary exploitation of the 90's youth but leaves out important messages of the severity of rape and racism that happened both in the young and old generation.
I recommend watching this documentary to cringe, get angry and be reminded to NEVER become like the generations before us.
Big Mouth: No Nut November (2021)
Big M is back
I must admit I really didn't find the last season that funny - completely subjectively - but man just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in with Andrew's dad's big balls 💚
Us (2019)
Half a year later and I finally get it
I watched this movie 6 months ago and I finally understand it. I think it is one of the most BRILLIANT movies of our time on the same level as Synecdoche New York.
All I will say is keep thinking about it and study the Freudian Egg.
You got this.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Darkness can't hide this Abomination
I actually skipped through the entire thing.
Hiding the battle in darkness is a clever way of saving money but if the battle literally only relies on the actual fighting scenes without any sort of tactics, then it's a real poor choice
I have read the books, I have followed the series and I'm sad and disappointed! Maybe even a bit angry.
You could feel Hollywood's cold slimy hands closing around the neck of the moneybag GOT has become. It's frustrating how storytelling is slowly dying to please the lowest common denominator just so money can be made.
GoT has went from being intelligent storytelling to becoming a symbol of modern day's obsession with money and publicity as has happened to the HP movies and The Hobbit movies.
I'm sorry and I hope we will be able to leave the darkness behind.
American Poltergeist (2015)
Hahahahahaahahaha
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Everything about this movie is terrible 😂
It makes The Room's script seem like a poetic masterpiece!
It makes Pirates' actors seem like Oscar winners!
It makes Trolls 2's camerawork seem astonishing!
Watch it only at your own risk.
