For the Love of Books (2012)
Great documentary showcasing a unique way people celebrate the power of books!
Loved this documentary! It really gives the viewer an in-depth look at what is really going on at Girlfriend Weekend with The Pulpwood Queens in Jefferson, Texas as well as a sweet sneak peek at the town itself. For a reader, its great because Torgerson gives you nice long scenes of some of the charismatic authors during their interview panels. He also showcases the work these ladies do for important causes in a way that allows you to actually feel the impact of their efforts. All in all, Torgerson has given us a unique and entertaining look into something I believe even the locals in the town of Jefferson are confounded by. Finally, Jeremy Vogt, who does all of the music for the film, is AMAZING! With his great voice and poetic lyrics he is able to add another layer of depth to the film by building on the emotion that is set up by Torgerson. This is a great little film and should be seen by all those who enjoy reading and connecting to other readers.
