Tinseltown (2007 TV Short)
7/10
a nice comedic blend.
7 November 2007
a nice comedic blend of interaction between muppets and live people. it was too short, but it was only a pilot, but hopefully it will be picked up by the logo channel where it aired as a part of "alien boot camp" mia sara shows that she can indeed do comedy, and she still looks good at 40! the subject of a gay relationship may be offensive to some viewers, but it is treated with a comedic bent and though it is slightly suggestive, there is nothing about the show which is trashy or sleazy to offend. to me, i feel it shows the desperation and rejection which is a part of that unreal lifestyle, which prevails in a place that is indeed called "tinseltown".

Lost in Oz (2002 TV Movie)

an excellent but unaired show
1 April 2006
once again, the wb has screwed up! this had the potential to be a wonderful addition to the lineup! this darker version of oz could have had a great storyline going for it, and the acting was really excellent. and also, it was not mia farrow, but mia sara who played the wicked witch of the west, and she was fabulous! shows of great potential and quality such as this are becoming the victims of brain dead TV execs who pander to the brain dead TV watchers of this generation! we need more programs like lost in oz, not more idiotic "reality" shows, that teach people how to screw one another!the pilot for this show was damned good, and it's a shame that nobody would show some spine and give it a chance! shame on the networks and their foolish execs!

the bueller bueller edition of ferris bueller
13 January 2006
a crisper looking version of one of the more enjoyable teen movies of the 1980's complete with a plethora of interesting extras! recent interviews of the stars, give new insights to the making of the film, and it was interesting to see how they have aged in the years since the movie. some have aged well, some, not so well! a big disappointment, was the absence of a recent interview by Mia Sara, and her memories of making ferris bueller! has she sunk so far below the radar of show business revelence, that the producers of this edition did'nt even bother to include her! still, all i all a worthwhile new DVD of a funny 1980's movie that can be enjoyed ore then once!

Queenie (1987)
7/10
a more then worthwhile mini
17 February 2005
i have always been a big fan of these long location driven films.

the cast of characters were very interesting and expressive. the story in itself was more then enough to hold one's interest, focusing on a likable main character that you became emotionally involved with. the locations were beautifully filmed, and i felt the scenery was spectacular and lush. the film also had a wonderful international cast, that seemed to be perfectly cast in each part. i felt that kirk Douglas was excellent in the part of David konig, and played his part to perfection! the biggest surprise of the film was Mia Sara, who, in only her third film, was very believable as Queenie, and looked just beautiful. this film shows her to be a better talent then she is given credit for!

another winner from the Henson studio
17 February 2005
this mini series was a complete winner from start to finish! a wonderful, imaginative retelling of the old fairy tale, that does a great job of imagining an alternate beginning and then adding a great storyline to help finish it out. the special effects were wonderful, including the creatures from the henson studio workroom. an excellent visualization of the world atop the beanstalk, and the rulers of their world. it was tied in very well with the modern world, and Matthew Modine made for a very likable Jack, who tries to make things right again. Mia Sara as Ondine once again shows that she is best used in a longer premise where she has room to flesh out her character. her acting has definitely improved since Timecop, and she is as beautiful as ever, if not more so!
