Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
So much fun!
What's not to like about watching smart, strong women beat the crap out of the men who are trying to kill them. It's fun and cathartic. Gillian, Headey. Gugino, Bassett and Yeoh are already action stars. Nothing wrong with a formula film when the actors are so good and have great chemistry.
Perry Mason (2020)
Not Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason
What could have been an excellent film noir series that would introduce a new generation to Perry, Della and Paul turned out to be just a poor example of a steampunk/Penny Dreadful type series. Nothing about this version even comes close to Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason books. I agree with others who have questioned why this show is called "Perry Mason".
Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi (2020)
Deja Vu
Padma Lakshmi watched the 2014 documentary, "The Search for General Tso" and decided to "create" a groundbreaking travel/food show. Give credit where credit is due.

True Detective (2014)
Where are the Razorbacks?
This season is very good. There's only one thing missing: Razorbacks! You can't go 2 inches in Northwest Arkansas; the whole state, for that matter, without seeing Razorbacks!
Bachelorette (2012)
So funny!
It's difficult not to compare "Bachelorette" and "Bridesmaids". Fortunately for "Bachelorette" it is the better movie in every way.
The characters are fully developed. The situations are improbable, but at least within the realm of possibility. The dialog is smart and funny. Most importantly, and unlike "Bridesmaids"' you understand, care about, and even like the people in this movie.
Kirsten Dunst and James Marsden have great chemistry. Isla Fisher is sweet and funny. Rebel Wilson is fantastic. (I wonder which one of the two movies she likes best?) Director Leslye Headland has done a fantastic job of adapting her play for the screen. I enjoyed "Bachelorette" as much as I hated "Bridesmaids."
