Downton Abbey (2019)

More than bad insignificant
10 May 2021
If the film makers intentions were to amaze us with the British landscape the dazzling manors of the north the sublime costumes and the ladies' jewelry then they've done a pretty good job. If they meant to give us a film with a plot and a characters' development and suspense and a resolution at the end then they tragically failed themselves and us funs of the series.

The one thing that saves the film from an one star review are the Dowager and Isobel's witty exchanges that "don't argue, they explain"

Lacking in every aspect

I couldn't imagine there could ever exist such a bad story line combined with so poor acting

Santa's a-chronicles

Strangely, better than the first one but still.... And for 🎅 Santa's sake, couldn't they find a better child-actor for the role of Jack?

Too many princesses

So, let me get this right. According to US telefilm makers, Europe is full of kingdoms, principalitirs and duchies, where Americans rule by marriage. It's a shame no-one had informed Wallis and Prince Edward when they should have.

The end kind of ruined it for me

Witty and sweet in ways far more ambitious shows will never be. I could have opted for a different ending, though. A little more twisted

Technological perfection doesn't make a good film
22 November 2020
Amazing as this film may be visually and technologically, it stills remains totally uninteresting and, what's worse, soulless. Thank god for Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer that create, out of nothing, two amazing figures. P.S. Was Aurora that stupid and character-less on the first movie too?

Awful
30 September 2020
Why on earth do people think that just by looking like Woody Allen they could also write or act or direct like him? This show's script is awful, the characters are awful, unrelatable and non-believable, the directing is awful the playing is awful but the most awful thing of all is Paul Rust being the leading man. Awful awful, awful!

French can nail it
13 September 2020
A very good, really fun and clever heist movie. And for those who keep comparing it to Ocean's-don't-know-which-number: it's far less glossy than its Hollywood counterparts but glossy enough for its genre. Jean Reno and Jean Dujardin have much more substance in their acting and they possess a European class that Hollywood actors like Clooney or Pitt (excellent as they might be) are missing. Accordingly Goino's and Taglioni's elegance and expressiveness have Zeta-Jones and Roberts just envying. Bref, a very enjoyable movie that's not pretending to be anything else than that.

Coming of age

A low key movie about adulthood and choices that go beyond religions or nationalities. Not the most original film direction or acting of all times but honest and sweet. Worths the while

Season 3 rocks!
2 July 2019
Season 3 is the best season so far. With no restrictions from big networks politics it addresses difficult issues with a refreshingly humane and political point of view. So happy Netflix renewed the show. Totally worth it

Seriously?
25 June 2019
Can someone tell me the algorithm netflix uses to suggest shows? Cause, really, I can't get it! The series I watched prior to that soapy.......... thing were Good girls and Cuckoo and Good wife and Good place.... Ohhh! I can see the pattern here..... Well, dear Hallmark and dear Netflix there's nothing good in Good witch and I mean that in every possible aspect. And it has nothing to do with excellent shows like Good place or Good girls P.S. Netflix should really work on that algorithm of theirs!

I keep forgetting how poor an actor Jennifer Aniston is and she keeps reminding me. As for the rest of the film? Full of clichès and stereotyping
