One of the Best!
9 February 2024
This is one of the best period dramas I've watched. The acting, story telling, costumes, cinematography, etc. Was spectacular. Not too much romance, not too much action, and not too much drama. What an excellent way to use fiction to tell the history of the Korean people. Not only do you fall in love with the characters, you feel compelled to know more about Japanese imperialism in Korea. It was horrible!

The last four episodes were tough to watch because it was difficult to see the cruelty of Japan imposed on the people of Korea, and episode 24 had me all in my feelings...big ugly tears!

Wish there 100+ episodes of this show!

Season Two Makes Up for Season 1
14 October 2023
If you thought season one was a little slow and underwhelming, be patient and give season two a chance. The acting is still great, but the writing/storyline is so much better this go round. This season is almost bungee worthy. Moiraine is still annoying as ever, and her roller coaster relationship with Lan seems cliche; however, everyone else seems to grow as characters.

Rand finally coming into his powers and being just as manipulative as the Dark was actually pleasing to see.

The new group of antagonists in season two also help to bring a new sense of suspense and drama.

I will say that I'm enjoying seeing all this "girl power" in this season as well!

Heartwarming and Necessary
21 March 2023
This is one of the most beautiful shows I've ever watched. The writing and acting are both superb, and the incredible stories take us on a journey to show us the true meaning LOVE. Do people with this much compassion actually exist? They do, and Call the Midwife reminds us of that.

This show epitomizes acceptance, patience, and perspective. It's the unconditional love and nonjudgemental views of the characters that make your heart swell while you watch.

I'm rewatching and this time with my 13 year old daughter. I recommend the show to all my friends and get excited when they tell me they've started.

Not Great, But Not Horrible
27 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The first two episodes seemed to happen a little too fast. The death of all the different clans early on seemed chaotic and without merit. Merwyn's character needed more development and motive for her backstabbing actions. Plus, her death was too easy/sudden. Instead of rushing the series with just four episodes, Netflix should have taken the time to bring a more powerful/compelling story with 6-8 episodes. Although rushed, I did enjoy seeing how the various members of the 7 came together. I wanted more episodes with Fjall as the Witcher.

I wouldn't mind seeing new seasons with a different Witcher each season in which the storyline for being the next Witcher is told.

Cheesy, but Great for Families
11 October 2021
Yeah, like most people I thought the show was cheesy; however, the later episodes became more tolerable, well-written, and even funny. This is a show my daughter looks forward to each week and I'm grateful to have something I can watch with my 11 year-old. There aren't many television shows on the air that can truly be considered family friendly.

We love the characters and their complex and unique relationships. Also, you can't go wrong with teaching children to respect animals...it makes us all better humans.

Entertaining!
11 April 2021
This is exactly what a movie like this should be...entertaining! I wasn't expecting some Academy Award winning plot-I expected two Titans to go head-to-head and that's what I got. I enjoyed the emotional scenes between Kong and the little girl, but I also marveled at the incredibly intense fight scenes.

If you're looking to be entertained, watch the movie; however, if you're looking for dynamic characters and an in-depth plot, this isn't for you.

A Breath of Fresh Air
29 December 2020
I will admit, I have not read the books, but that's okay because this isn't a book review. As for the television series, it was captivating! The sets, wardrobes, etc. were precise and obviously created with precision. The actors all hit their mark and played their roles exceptionally well. Just like any story, you learn to love and hate a few of the characters.

The series was exciting to watch and I wanted more as soon as I finished the first episode! I wanted more love, more lies, more sex, more betrayal...all of it!

For those reviewers upset about POC playing queens, dukes, and high-class individuals, get over yourselves...it's fiction for goodness sake. This isn't some biography or documentary. Yes, the story does include historical elements; however, most viewers comprehend that what we are watching was soley meant for entertainment, and entertained we were!

Cheesy, But Good for Families
26 September 2019
The show is very predictable and a little corny, but we thoroughly enjoy watching it with our nine-year-old daughter. There aren't many shows on television that African-American families can enjoy together. Black-ish used to be one of them, but the content became a little too mature. This show makes us laughs and has several teachable moments.

I recommend it for families looking for something they can enjoy together. We hope they continue with several seasons.

Am I the only one who noticed Angela lost her British accent in this episode?
