Remarriage & Desires (2022)
Bingeworthy, although no chemistry between the 2 leads
This show (as with most K dramas) is totally bingeworthy. The plot and writing were fantastic for the most part and the pacing was perfect. There were a few minor plot continuity errors, but nothing that affected the overall show.
As mentioned in the title, the two leads---Seo-Hye Seung (played by Kim Hee-sun) and Lee Hyeong-Joo (played Lee Hyun-wook)---had zero chemistry, their relationship seemed forced and the ending was unrealistic, lol. In fact, the Seo-Hye Seung character didn't have chemistry with the other male lead as well; it felt forced.
The standout character was the female villain Jin Yoo Hee (played by Jeong Eu-Gene); she played the villain perfectly; her antics were so over the top that it made you want to watch more to see what she would do next. I actually thought she had much more chemistry with the main male lead (Lee Hyeong-Joo). Overall it's a solid show, definitely worth a watch.
Mother/Android (2021)
Chloe Grace Moretz was amazing, but bad plot
Chloe Grace Moretz's acting really stood out, I'm not as familiar with her other work, but she was great in this. Other than that, the film was just OK -- it didn't really explain anything. Why were the androids angry all of a sudden? What was their motivation to overtake humanity other than the fact that they could? Why did Arthur setup such an elaborate plan to use Chloe's character to infiltrate the human base in Boston only to allow himself to be taken down by a few bullets? Why was Korea safe compared to the rest of the world? Also, the EMT plot should have been explained further. I rated it 5 due to Chloe's performance.
Keep Breathing (2022)
Really bad
This started off promising, but completely went downhill with all of the flashbacks--it literally could have been an amazing mini series if they focused on the present day.
The main character was annoying and unlikeable, she had an attitude that came out of nowhere, which made it difficult to root for her. The flashbacks were equally annoying and boring. The only two interesting characters were the two men on the plane, but unfortunately they weren't used as much in this series.
The flashbacks with the mother were confusing and brought nothing to the overall plot; the ending was shoddy and rushed.
Drôle (2022)
This is a hidden gem on netflix, A++
I watched on Netflix; this was SO well done with awesome character development. I absolutely love Aissatou, Bling, and Nasir/his girlfriend; I'm hoping for a season 2 as i'd love a follow-up to these characters, definitely binge-worthy.
Abbott Elementary (2021)
One of my favorite new shows
This is one of my favorite new shows this season and probably the only one I watch on TV (everything is pretty much through streaming services). I like the mockumentary style, it reminds me a bit of The Office. I'm hoping there will be a few more seasons and we get to see more character development.
Mentiras (2020)
Super boring after they reveal everything in third episode
The first 2 episodes are pretty good, they'll have you wondering who is telling the truth; and then for whatever reason they reveal everything in the third episode and it just goes downhill from there because we already know the truth.
It becomes super repetitive and boring at this point, I had to fast forward through some long drawn-out sections. The main character was very annoying, the doctor was super ridiculous and creepy and they wouldn't explain the reasonings behind his acts. A few characters were brought into the show with no follow-up.
The only relatively interesting storyline involved the sister, but that doesn't really go anywhere, and I found her character annoying as well. I usually like Spanish thrillers but this bombed.
Newton's Cradle (2021)
One of my fav shows on Netflix
I'm North American and I absolutely loved this show. Everything from the cast, to the acting, the plot, shooting locations, etc., were spot on. I'm not familiar with these actors, but the lady who played Hanna (whether you loved the character or hated her) did a fantastic performance and should get an award. The actors who played Hazem and Moeness were also absolutely fantastic and Big Zee was hot/made me laugh. There were times I loved and hated all of the characters, but that's part of what made this show so good.
The only thing was the ending (no spoilers), it really got on my nerves, I don't think the right decision was made. I would love to see more/similar types of work, A++ as well to the directors and writers.
Anne (2017)
Please bring another season! This show is totally bingeworthy
I binged all three seasons on Netflix and loved it (especially seasons 2 and 3). I read that they cancelled it due to not enough viewership in the 25-54 age range, I'm in the younger end of this age group and think this show is awesome. I remember seeing previews for it on the CBC a few years ago, but I thought it was going to be boring so I never watched it then -- it wasn't until recently when I watched it on Netflix (and only because of all the controversy surrounding its cancellation, I wanted to see what it was about). Please bring back one last season or a finale movie!

One of the best Netflix series i've seen in a while
This is totally bingeworthy; the plot was spot on and kept me watching; the acting was great (even if there was "over-acting" at times, each actor nailed his/her role). One of my top 5 all-time fav Netflix series.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Watch it -- it's just as good as a Tarantino film
This film isn't getting the credit it deserves, it was so well done -- the action, acting, plot, etc., this should get an 8 at least, it's just as good (or even better) than a Tarantino film. Regina King nailed her role, she was my favorite part of the movie.
Clickbait (2021)
Definitely binge-worthy (and the ending completely unexpected)
No spoilers, but this was definitely binge-worthy and the last episode had me hanging by the edge of my seat. I also like the interracial aspects (and Adrian Grenier was super hot). One of the better Netflix binges I've seen in a while, A++.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Meh it wasn't the greatest, but one totally nailed his role...
Nothing could beat the original, this felt like more of a made-for-tv movie because of the poor script. Was happy to see Eddie/Arsenio and all of the regulars. Leslie Jones played...well Leslie Jones, exactly how she acts in everything else. Lookout for cameos from a ton of black musicians/actors. But the highlight was Wesley Snipes's character, he totally nailed his role and it was the only time I laughed in the whole movie.
Kalifat (2020)
One of the best series' I've ever seen
This series will make you go through a wide range of emotions, it was so well done, the writing, the acting, the suspense. Also, it provided good insight into how some people get brainwashed into radicalization. So well done, and completely underrated.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Wasn't funny and huge age difference between lead characters
I wanted to like this, but it wasn't funny, I'm confused about all the 10 star reviews on here. There's also a huge age gap between Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, it was awkward. The best thing about this movie though was the scenary, Europe looks beautiful.
Dirty John (2018)
Dirty John 2: Betty - one of the best mini series' you'll watch
Season 2 (Dirty John: Betty) was one of the best mini series' i've ever seen, I didn't know Amanda Peet was such a great actress, she should win an award for this role. Season 1 was also binge-worthy, but,as a few people already pointed out, the girl who played the youngest daughter in season 1 has the most annoying voice, it almost sounded like she was on helium.
All Rise (2019)
Horrible writing
What a waste. The show has great recognizable actors but the writing is terrible. Too unbelievable, not enough character growth and terrible plot lines. I wanted to like it, what a shame.
New Blood (2016)
Super addictive
I love the friendship between the characters! Also, the look, style, script and acting was excellent. I discovered this on Netflix, hoping for season 2.
Seven Seconds (2018)
The acting and plot line was incredible
The acting, writing and plot/sub plots of this mini series were incredible. There were some scenes that ran slightly too long, but overall it was super addictive (I binge-watched throughout the entire weekend). The ending could have tied up a few loose ends, but maybe there'll be a season 2.
Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too (2019)
Disney movie with swear words
This felt like a Disney movie with swear words, definitely not Black Mirror. I liked the first 2 episodes of the season, but it was like this was written by completely different writers for a different series...
Samson (2018)
Could only get through 30 minutes, it's very innacurate
I saw this available for streaming on Netflix and could only get through the first half hour, it's very inaccurate. Samsung doesnt have a younger brother; in fact, the Bible says he told his parents he wanted to get with the Philistine women -- his brother didn't go off and look for her.
Also, they showed that the first Philistine women who he was interested in was the one to encourage him/make him think about his role as being a leader/delivering his people, also inaccurate. They also show him as being pretty weak in the opening scenes, like he doesnt know how strong he could be. I'll pass.
Sick Note (2017)
Probably one of the best shows I've seen on Netflix
I'm not as familiar with British humor but this show is so we'll done, it deserves much more praise -- the acting, the cast, the writing/plot had me hooked, I binge-watched the entire series. I know there was press in the U.S. when Lindsey Lohan joined the cast, but this show should get much more recognition in North America. Please let there be a season 3!!
The Princess Switch (2018)
Predictable but a good family movie
It wasnt the best movie...it was very predictable (movie writers and studios should start getting fresh content, or look for a fresh spin on old ideas), but compared to some of the other boring christmas movies out there it wasnt that bad. It's definitely a good movie to watch with the family/kids.
A Diva's Christmas Carol (2000)
Probably one of the best Christmas movies
Vanessa Williams plays the hottest scrooge you'll ever see. This movie was too much fun and a great take on A Christmas Carol -- entertaining, funny and decent acting for a Christmas movie. Much better than some of the super boring cheesy hallmark movies out today.
The Holiday Calendar (2018)
Had high hopes, but this was terrible
I like how the characters are multicultural, but this was VERY boring. Nothing happens, it's cliche, dry and extremely boring. Like watching paint dry.
Death Note (2017)
The worst adaptation taken from an anime series that I've ever seen
Probably the worst adaptation taken from an anime series that I've ever seen -- I'm betting the director didn't watch the full original series. That's fine, but they shouldn't have called this Death Note because it's completely different from the anime series that die hard fans have come to love and were expecting with the live adaptation. The writing is horrible, the acting is poor and rushed and the characters aren't believable. I'd have less of an issue of the story taking place in America if the plot was somewhat interesting. This wasn't Death Note, it was more like Final Destination 6.
