Safe Haven (I) (2013)

Very well written book and movie. Absolutely loved it!
1 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this movie a lot. One of my favorite Nicholas Sparks' movie adaptations because I love how true it was to the book. Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough had great chemistry together and Lexie and Josh played very cute kids. When I read the book, I was a little apprehensive of how the movie would turn up because sometimes, the Nicholas Sparks movies are either not true to the book, or are true to the book, but it's just bad ('The Lucky One', 'The Best of Me'), and then there are the Nicholas Sparks movies that altered some of the book scenes to make the movie story better ('A Walk to Remember', 'Dear John') and those movies came out very good. I really like how, when watching, the audience gets a glimpse of Katie's married life and what she did to escape. I also like how, right in the beginning of the movie, the audience sees Katie bursting out of the house frantically; I like how it keeps the audience in suspense of what had happened earlier and what she will do next. The only thing I don't like about this movie is the fact that the daughter's name was changed Alex's daughters name from Kristen to Lexie. Personally, I like it when movies stay true to the book, including keeping the character names the same in the book as in the movie.

Other than that though, I really like how this movie turned out. However, even though I really love this movie, I don't think it deserves a perfect score of a 10. I don't know, maybe something about this movie, but I don't think it's a 10. It's definitely a 9, and I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this movie on any night.

Didn't like it at all
11 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I found a lot of things wrong with this movie. First, Julia Stiles did not reprise her role as Paige Morgan, which I thought was a very good role for her. I guess she read the script and decided against it. Second, there was no chemistry at all between Luke Mably (Edvard) and Kam Heskin (Paige). I didn't believe for one second that she was Paige and that they were in love to be married. Luke had much better chemistry with Julia than he had with Kam. It just looked very fake to me and I didn't like them together. Third, at the end of the movie, when Edvard gets Paige back, he says a whole speech to her. It can clearly be seen that he didn't remember his lines, so he's reading his lines from the cue cards near the camera. And as he's reading from it, you can tell when he's waiting for the cue cards to switch to the next line. He clearly didn't want to be in this movie and didn't act his best. It's a good storyline, but the chemistry and the acting made the movie unwatchable. I think they should've stopped at the first movie and not made another 3 after the first one.

Waste of time
21 May 2015
As I was watching this movie, the whole time I'm thinking, "this doesn't happen!" This movie is called "The Book of Esther". If this is what the movie is called, let it be true to its story. The fact that none of the events that happened in the movie happened in the book really saddens me. When I first saw this title, I thought, "oh okay. They made a movie about Queen Esther. I hope it's not like that 'Noah' (2014) movie, where the movie wasn't true to the actual story. The storyline is okay; only very very few parts were true to the actual biblical story, but other than that, this is not what happened. At all. They might as well rename the movie and the characters because I don't remember any of this happening. Unless I've been reading the story wrong my whole life, there were far too many errors for it to be named "The Book of Esther." Additionally, even if I didn't know the story of Esther, it looks like the movie was poorly made; when switching scenes, the outside home/palace would be shown to say "this is where the next scene is". The outside home/ palace that's shown is clearly computerized. I noticed right when I saw that it was poorly made. At some points, I thought I was watching a low budget theater show. I'm extremely disappointed with how it turned out and I do not recommend this movie to anyone who's interested in the story of Esther.

Noah (2014)

Did not stay true to its Biblical name
3 May 2015
When I first saw the movie, I thought it was going to stay true to its story, like they made The Prince of Egypt true to its Biblical sorry, even though it was only a cartoon. Noah was unlike the Biblical story whatsoever; if it was going to be named Noah, at least make it Biblical, put some events that happened in the Bible into the movie. If I had no idea what the Biblical story is about, I would think the movie is very well--done and well-written, because it is, but because I know exactly what the story was, I couldn't comprehend why they made Noah look like the bad guy. And not only was Noah looked at as the bad guy, but Gd looked like the bad guy as well. Gd never told Noah to kill his own grandchild. That part of the story was made up to create more drama in the movie, as is the other half of the movie. As I mentioned before, if I had no religious beliefs when seeing this movie, I would maybe like it because the action and drama, but because of a biased opinion, I thought this movie would stay true to its name and tell us the story of Noah and was very disappointed when I saw that the whole story was changed. I would definitely not watch this movie again.

Very disappointed
30 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the movie, I expected there to be some similarities to the novel. When I saw that there were very few similarities, I got very upset because the novel had a great storyline and the movie just took it away. For instance, in the novel, Dawson comes from a bad family and he's enemies with all of his cousins. However, in the beginning of the movie, it seems like he's best friends with one of them and he's enemies with the others. I was also upset that we only got a glimpse as to how Dawson's father and his two cousins treated him. Additionally, in the middle of the movie, I was confused as to what happened to Dawson's best friend/cousin's son. Maybe I need to see the movie again because I only remember seeing him briefly and how he's being treated. The casting was great, young Dawson and older Dawson, and young Amanda and older Amanda resembled each other, but other than that, I was really disappointed with how the movie came out.

Trailer was confusing at first
27 April 2015
When I read the book, I was really confused in the middle, but in the end it all made sense because there was a huge chuck the reader was missing out on and in the end, it's finally revealed. When I first saw the trailer, I was confused because hey added a box and I didn't know how it was going to be used; after all, there was no box in the book. After watching the movie, it became clear to me what the box is used for and I think it was a really smart idea that they used the box because without it, the movie would've been so long, as is the book, and it would've been too confusing. I like that they shortened the movie by adding something and changing the story up a bit. This movie was amazing. The stunts were incredible and the suspense was a killer. When I saw it, I wanted to see it four more times. I absolutely loved the movie. However, like the first movie, I didn't like that Tris doesn't call Four by his real name, Tobias, like she does in the book. But other than that, the storyline was well written and the movie was amazing.

Loved!
22 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this movie! I read the book in less than two days and loved it. I loved the characters, I loved how everything is written and when I saw the movie, it made me love it even more. I saw this movie twice, the second time with my mom and she even said that the movie stuck with her, as it did with me. For, like, a whole week, I was thinking of nothing else but the movie. I liked how, when I was watching the movie, I wasn't watching the book, but instead watching their own interpretation on how the movie should be like. I like how they changed some things to make the movie a little different than the book. The soundtrack was perfect, however I noticed that they tried to squeeze in the crazy scenes that happened in the book into the movie. Also, I didn't like that, in the movie, Four doesn't tell Tris to call him Tobias, as he does in the book because when he tells her to call him by his real name, he's giving her a part of him that he doesn't want anyone else to have. Other than that though, one of my top favorite movies and I would suggest this movie to anyone who like Action.

The show was good, but too dragged on
22 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The show was okay. It started off with a good storyline- innocent freshman girl gets pregnant at camp from a one night the stand she had with a player, "bad boy". In season one though, I didn't like how Ben was involved with the whole pregnancy, like come on, I think Ricky wanted to be part of it if she would have let him. I think he also went all out with the whole "you're pregnant so I'm going to propose to you now even though it's not my baby". Relax. You're in high school. This isn't the rest of your life. So after she gives birth, it got interesting because I wondered how she was going to take care of a newborn and go to school at the same time, but they made it interesting. In my opinion though, I think the show was too dragged on. I think the show having 5 seasons was unnecessary because it started getting boring and the writers would come up with little irrelevant story lines that were unnecessary. The show was good, but after a while, I just made myself finish it just to know what happens in the finale. I wish that when the writers came up with the storyline, they had a storyline for the whole series instead of just having a storyline for the first two.
