Lacking
5 March 2019
This movie had an all star cast, and they played their roles well, but it was still sadly lacking.I kept waiting for the pace to pick up, but it never did. It just plodded along slowly from start to finish. I was hoping for a lot more but it never happened.

Uncomfortable To Watch
24 January 2019
The acting in this movie was all very good. The main character did an excellent job but because it was all so true to life, I found it very uncomfortable to watch. I think I squirmed around in my seat as much as the main character Kayla did in the movie. Kids can be extremely mean, self centered jerks, and this movie reminded me of the parts of growing up that I just want to forget.. The times when I was a jerk to others, and the times others were jerks to me. A lot a people loved this movie and I can see why, but it was just really tough for me to watch. I just wanted to give this poor kid a hug, she really needed one.

Dark Sad and Depressing
22 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I found this movie to be dark, sad, and depressing but something kept me watching. Maybe I was hoping for something good to happen because I really wanted the main character to get a break. Maybe it was the acting, which was all quite good, that helped hold my attention. The main character fires a gun in a crowd of people but seems to suffer no consequences for doing that, which made no sense. Still, there was something that drew me in and held me there, which I do not fully understand. I can't say it was bad but I can't say it was good either. Sorry to be so vague but, I guess you will have to watch it and decide for yourself.

Not perfect but still good
10 January 2019
There were times where this movie was a little bit predictable and a little bit slow, but I still liked it. I especially enjoyed the interaction between Danny and Shauna. It seemed both genuine and touching. Some of the other acting seemed a slightly wooden at times, but when viewed as a whole and not picked apart piece by piece it was still a good movie.

Good Movie Bad Ending
24 December 2018
I thought this was a good movie that was ruined by the ending. Some people must like open ended movies where you get to decide what happens, but I happen to HATE them. A good movie is to be remembered, and part of that complete memory (at least to me) is the ending. Movies like this I tend to forget. Prior to the ending I was really enjoying the story. I would have rated this movie much higher had it not been for the weak ending.

Real Life In The Big City

I really enjoyed this movie, it was fascinating. I thought all of the characters played their parts very well. It looked real, sounded real, and felt so real to me that I could almost smell it. It is a great story of survival and drive which impressed me, and I do not impress easily. The only thing I did not care for was the ending; perhaps because I was sad that it was over and I wanted the story to keep going.

4 Stars Is Being Generous
22 May 2018
WHAT I LIKED: The movie started out with high hopes of being suspenseful, but it dragged on for so long that the suspense simply wore out. I think all the actors did decent jobs and I especially liked Barry Keoghan who played a great creepy psycho kid, and Raffey Cassidy who played his sort of girlfriend.

WHAT I DISLIKED: The movie was way too long. I think they could have easily improved it by chopping out 30 to maybe even 40 minutes. Nothing new was really happening. We figured out everything pretty quickly but it just kept slowly , almost painfully, dragging on. Most of the sex scenes (and some sex talk) were unnecessary and uncomfortable, and really did nothing to add to the story. The music that was suspenseful at first became almost goofy later on. Music alone does not a thriller make. Colin Farrell spinning around in his living room was an especially lame scene that made no sense, and oh yeah, I thought the title was pretty dumb too.

Like I said, I think 4 stars is being generous, and I gave it that much only because I thought almost all of the actors played their rolls well.
