Too Big to Fail (2011 TV Movie)
5/10
This movie is a satire
22 December 2020
As a fictional movie, this is an excellent acted one with a gripping story. However, this is not a fictional movie. And as a movie supposedly based on real events, it is a satire. None of these politicians and financiers have an empathy bone in their body. It's unfortunate none of those depicted in this movie we're put behind bars. Too big to fail my behind.

The Boys (2019– )
9/10
This is not the comic book. And that's fine.
25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The Boys, the comic book series, is an absolutely amazing read. There are no good characters. Every single one of them is an evil, messed up character either by choice or forced to by circumstances. It's a refreshing take on the superhero genre with lots of violence, funny moments and an ending that it's quite satisfying. The Boys, the TV series, even though has the same premise as the comic book series, it's not as violent, funny or messed up. That's not to say it isn't violent, funny or messed up. The main difference between the two is that in the comic book series, The Boys have already been given compound V. Hughie eventually takes it within a few issues. In the TV series, only the female is the one who has been given compound V. Another difference is Butcher's motivations. In the comic book series, Homelander raped Butcher's wife who eventually died giving birth to a child. In the TV show, Butcher's wife is alive and the child, the result of Homelander raping her, is also alive. Overall, the TV series is a slow but very satisfying affair meticulously building a detailed universe filled with well developed characters with very flawed motives who lack any morals whatsoever. Like the comic book series, it is not politically correct. Unfortunately, the lack of compound V (up to middle of Season 2 at least) prevents The Boys from coming face to face with the superheroes. It's a slow burn, but I trust that when The Boys eventually inject compound V, it will be a glorious event. The best character by far is Homelander. Think of Superman, if Superman was a conniving man hellbend for global domination who lacks self esteem and he can be controlled by simple humans. Highly recommended.

Best Horror Movie of the year
11 September 2020
The documentary is quite disturbing. As other reviewers said, it is a few years late as this documentary should have been released when social media was really taking off. As a new parent, it made me think about the times I chose to look at my phone instead of giving my attention to my son. But it also scares me thinking that one day, my son would want a smartphone with all the negative consciousness that unfortunately will follow. Technology is an amazing thing. And as an optimist, I believe that all the tools created by the technology weren't meant to be used in a nefarious way. Perhaps is our human nature. Or the need for these technology companies to financially outperform their previous quarter. My only criticism is Russia. Even though it has been proved that Russia didn't affect the results of the 2016 US election, the documentary actually makes the point that it did. So perhaps, this documentary is just any social network.

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)
10/10
What an excellent show.
11 September 2020
There are some comedy shows that do not require a laughter track. And some that the comedy can be subtle but also laugh out loud. And finally, some comedy shows that have heart. Well, Ted Lasso is show that has all three. What an excellent show. All main characters are well developed and you grow to like and care about them. Definitely a show you are looking forward to every week. Apple TV definitely knocked out of the park with Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest.

What a dillusional bunch of idiots....an excellent documentary.
25 May 2020
Every single "sports fan" taking part in this documentary was and is a dillusional idiot. So butthurt because a fan supposedly interfered with a ball when their team was up 3-0. Give me a break.

The blue coat is a dead giveaway
20 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Such a disappointing film. And to think that the first 30 or so minutes were quite entertaining. In essence, the film preaches that if you don't like an idea, you should kill those who believe in this idea. And the blue coat of the killer point in only one direction.

Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
Jack Nicholson's Joker is a (very) distant third.
8 October 2019
Let me start by saying, this is a DC universe I want to further explore. The movie does an excellent job connecting most of the main Gotham characters and the possibilities for a sequel or sequels are endless. Joaquin Phoenix deserves the Oscar for best male lead. His performance of Arthur Fleck (i.e. Joker) is truly remarkable and with minimal dialogue, he conveys pain, disgust and an eventual decent to madness that will shock you. This is the most realistic Batman related movie. The movie is a character and society study. On one hand, a character abused, beaten, humiliated and totally ignored and on the other hand, a society literary overrun by rats. The story of the particular Joker is truly heartbreaking. From a boy full of happiness to the Joker. By the end of the movie, you are shocked but feel that you understand why Arthur Fleck became the Joker. Don't pay attention to the "woke" media. Joker is an excellent movie and maybe one of the best comic book movies.
