Copshop (2021)
Good action film up to a point
This film kept me entertained throughout right up until the end which was extremely lame. Characters were very interesting, especially Alexis Lauder's Val. The ending was so stupid it wrecked an otherwise fun action film.
Studio One: The Power (1956)
Frank M. Robinson's The Power
This is a superior adaptation of Frank M. Robinson's great novel The Power. Unlike George Pal's weak movie, this version is faithful to the novel and retains the suspense and chilling ending of the novel.
The Vikings (1958)
What the Heck Happened to Egbert?
James Donald (one of my favorite actors) gives a solid performance as Lord Egbert. Egbert supplied information to the Vikings in exchange for freedom from attack. This action may or may not have been motivated by the belief that the English king was a usurper. When he is discovered, he flees to the Vikings where he discovers that Eric (Tony Curtis) is the illegitimate son of the previous English queen by a stone that he wears around his neck. He clearly hopes to use this to his advantage, but Eric gives the stone to the princess. Egbert queries Eric about the stone as the Vikings sail to England for the final battle---and that's the last we see of him. I assume his fate fell on the cutting room floor, but I'd be interested if anyone knows what is was. This has been driving me loony for almost 50 years!
